I just got a CAI cetme and was wondering if the hk-91/g3 stock set would fit? I am looking at the sets found in cheaper then dirt or the sportsmanguide.

Flyboy,

Yes.....

However:

1. If you have the CETME with synthetic stocks, you need to exchange out some foreign made parts for US parts otherwise you will be violating 922(r). Century uses US made plastic stocks and forearms on the synthetic stock version, so they then don't have to replace foreign parts to play the 10 or less game. If you email them, they will claim to have replaced those parts, but a quick check will show that they didn't. If you have a wood stocked CETME, than you won't have to worry about it, since the wood stocks are foreign parts, CAI had to have replaced 2 foreign parts with US parts.

2. Some filing is required on the little nylon nut that holds the recoil spring in place. It won't fit the CETME bolt carrier without a little filing.

If you have questions about which parts to replace, which really isn't too tough to do, head over to either cetmeforums.com or gunboards.com in the cetme section.

when you mention the 10 US made parts to comply with 922. Is this a section of the now expired AWB. Or is some other goofy gov reg?

922 has to do with importation, so it stands regardless of the AWB. As for the buttstock, yes and no. It might fit perfectly. Mine was too tight. You could very, very carefully drill a little of the receiver or the inside of the buttstock away. I just put the buttstock on, removed it and repeated. Though the first removal required a C clamp and another person. :D
