HK MR556...anyone with extensive use of one....

To make a long story short due to chronically worsening back problems I am thinking of parting ways with my 50 BMG. I have been thinking of the HK MR556 as a replacement for smiles.. I just cannot lug a 34 pound rifle around much anymore.

If anyone has any substantial trigger time with the HK, please let me know what your opinions of the rifle are. I have put less than 100 rounds through one, but liked it just fine. I own a few AR's and this one would just be another to add to the collection. I just want something different than the norm. I love HK as a company, and really like the general look and feel of the rifle.

I'm sorry, I don't have any experience with the rifle, other than handling one at a gunshop, so I won't be any help.

But I will get the obligatory "Because you suck, and we hate you" out the way now, so we can perhaps skip some of the HK bashing that always seems to pop up.

Thank you NOLAEMT. I just cannot get it out of my mind. When. Decided to sell the fifty, the thought of the HK made me giddy. I know I can get a cheaper AR that is as good, this is almost like my unicorn rifle.

No experience at all, but my previous HK experiences lead me to believe that it will be excellent if you can afford it and justify it.

If the funds are available i'd pick up a real deal HK416 upper from HKparts, sbr a lower, and slap it on.
