It seems everyone is either one way or the other. Only very few people actually like both of them. I am kind of curious to see how many like one or the other or neither. I personally like the feel of the HK better, but i shoot the Sig better. I like the Sig's balance and extra weight. The HK just has a better grip and feel to it for me. Both are WAY too expensive for me to own all the models. I do have a compact ss .40s&w and a P2000 9mm. I have a P228 (If you have the chance check this gun out it is awesome) and a P220. I kind of want the new P220 carry (maybe one day).
No real question just a poll unless you feel like sharing! Thank's

I like both. I prefer the HK in .40S&W and the Sig in 9mm for some reason. I have been drooling over a 228. Currently the only handguns I own are HKs. A P2000 and a P2000sk. But soon I will have a Sig 2022 in 9mm.

I think you will find that people who own one generally prefer both. They are my 2 favorite manufacturers overall.

I have a Sig P220 and an H&K USP compact .45. While I like them both, I find that the Sig Shoots a bit better for me and is a little slimmer and thus easier to conceal. I have a shooting buddy who likes the H&K a bit better that the Sig. Try them and see what fits you best, they are both quality.

I have and like both. If I had to choose between them though, I would choose the Sig. It feels better in my hand.

The usp40c fits me better than the 220, but I really like them both. Neither one will be finding its way to the classifieds. Both have been very reliable and accurate. Seem to live up to the reputation of each company.

I have a 220 and a 220ST as well as a HK USP Tactical with the Match Trigger. Like them all plus other models I've own in different models except for the Sig 230 which I sold to get something better for the size. If I had to own one it would be the HK USP Tactical for the trigger. I must of got luck as mine is very smooth and the trigger stop helps me shoot better.

I have 1 Hk (a P2000) and 3 SIGs (P220, P228, P239). I just bought the Hk last month to see what I think of the brand.

Personally, the Hk fits my hand better, and feels very nice in-hand. But I shoot the SIGs better, go figure. I am training frequently on the Hk to see if I can become as accurate and quick as I am with my SIGs.

The build quality of the two are equal, IMO. The SIGs are heavier (mostly metal) while the HK shaves off some weight due to the poly. The poly seems very high quality, though, and is finished well (unlike my old Kahr).

I like the sights on the SIGs better (bar-dot). I acquire them under stress more quickly, and this could be the accuracy difference for me. For I can shoot one-hole groups with my HK if I try, so the accuracy is there, just not all the time in my hands :)

The thing I *really* like about the Hk is for the same weight as my P239 I have 5 more rounds. What's not to like about that? Like "something for nothing." I anxiously await my Milt Sparks VM2 for my Hk to compare with the VM2 rig for the P239. Right now, in a BladeTech UCH, the Hk isn't as comfortable to carry (although plenty concealable).

Just some random thoughts.

Pablo,
I have a few Sigs in all flavors & calibers, but I shoot, carry, & love my CZ 75 PCR best. It's hard to explain, but I love that little pistol. You mentioned that both the Sig & HK are out your price range, take a look at CZ....

When deciding which pistol to purchase I rented and shot numerous Sigs and HKs. I shot slightly better with the Sigs, but found it somewhat uncomfortable in my hand and more difficult to operate the magazine release quickly. Eventually purchased an HK USP9 fullsize and have since become much more accurate with it than I had been with the rental Sigs.

How difficult are the Sigs to field strip? The USP is a piece of cake.

I like different guns in different calibers. I like Glock in 9mm, HK in .40, .45 in alomst any 1911. Sigs grip is larger than I prefer having smaller hands with longer fingers. I just don't shoot it as well. Different strokes for different folks. nothing wrong with either. personal preferance.

I like both. I recently picked up a P2000 9mm, v3 and like the feel as well as the balance. I would put it on par with my P229. It does win out being a little lighter for carry. I also have a P229 Navy and the P220 Carry. I've carried the P229 and the P220 Carry with no problems. Based upon the P2000, I'll be adding another HK to the collection in the future.

Regen, the Sigs are easy to fieldstrip. They have the takedown lever on the left side of the pistol. Just push down and the slide pops right off.

I tend to lean more towards the HK's in terms of preference. I can't quite figure out why though, I just do. I have to have a Hogue Handall on the USP's that I shoot. Love the finger grooves and they help me stay consistant.

I've owned and carried both and liked them both. I prefer SAO pistols, so the USPc and the P7M8 are perfect carries for me. But I also really like the 239 and the new SAO pistols from sig. If they make a 229 sao, I may have to give it a go.

I like them both, but favor the HKs because of how they fit my hand. I have the P2000 v3 (LEM?) in 9mm and just got the USPc v1 in .45. they both are teriffic shooters and I am very accurate (for me) with them. I also have a Sig P229 in .40 S&W and like it, but am not quite as good with it. It's DA/SA. The grip is fatter than HK's so I had to get a short trigger put on to be able to grip it correctly. I think it has a little lower bore axis than the HKs, so for those that especially value that trait, it's a good one.

I like both, but I own more HKs. I won't buy into SIGs new focus on bling, and prefer the classic P-series SIGs so all my money has been going towards HK.

Ability to carry cocked and lock for the USP line is the biggest thing going for HK pistols for me.

I've gone back and forth with both brands, and back and forth between 9mm and .45acp.

I've settled on the Sig P226 Navy as my 9mm and the H&K USPf as my .45acp.
Both shoot exceptionally well for me.

The big USP even eats my JSWC handloads without complaint.

How difficult are the Sigs to field strip? The USP is a piece of cake.

As mentioned above, the SIG is easy to strip, easier than the HK IMO, although not significantly. The interesting thing to me is the SIG seems easier to clean. The Hk has more nooks and crannies... More right angles to swab. The SIG is more curvaceous and easier to wipe down (the inside of the slide is one example.

Not that this is a big deal, we're talking minutes. But I do find the SIGs a little more pleasant to deal with when it comes to cleaning.

I said it many times when this question comes up, both are excellent firearms. They are quaility arms that will last a lifetime if you take care of them. It comes down to personal prefference. I like the way Sigs feel much better then Hks. I don't own any Hks any more, but I do have a few Sigs.
For me, I like Sigs the best. :D

I like both brands.
Currently I have one from each, an HK P7M8 and a Sig P220(non-railed).
Previously I've owned 2 USPs and a P226 (all in 9mm).

I have a love/hate relationship with the USP and its derivatives. Some things I love: the mag release, the fire control group, and the general dependability of the line. Other things I hate: the trigger (both SA and DA) and lots of barrel whip with hotter ammo. I absolutely LOVE my P7M8. It's staggeringly accurate and just cool, so very cool from a mechanical/engineering standpoint. HK in general makes stellar, if overpriced firearms. I'm interested in the HK45 if/when it's released.

Sig/SIGARMS makes great handguns. The 220 SAO is on my list of handguns I need, as is the P226 Elite.

Cheers,
B.

Both are as good as it gets in production guns. For .45 I like HK and for 9 I like sig.

GUDEL,
Good one, No i am not wanting something new. Well i do of course but this is just to see what others like and why. My computer was messing up last night and for some reason would not let me do the poll. I was suprised this thread came out. I was curious about the HK feeling better but the Sig shooting better and it seems that way for alot of people on here to.
But yeah i am picking up a HK p2000 in .40s&w next week hopefully. This will probably be replacing my glock 22 for a hunting sidearm.
