Think the heading says it all I am a HK fan....carry a 2000sk 90% of the time
But I was they would make a single stack 9 like the shield or XDs and a pocketable 380 like the LCP or P380 from Kahr....and one else with me and does anyone think either of these will ever happen

They did make a single-stack 9.

It was the P7 and it was awesome. But it was expensive to manufacture, heavy, and didn't sell well enough.

Only HK knows if they will wade into that market again. But even if they don't there are other high-quality pistols in that class worth considering, such as the Walther PPS.

You will probably see a VP9SK and VP40SK before you see anything else from HK.

In my fantasy I see a blending of a HK compact with a Kahr P9. HK quality, Kahr size, adjustable grip and rock solid reliability. Pardon my drool.

+1 on the Walther. I carry my PPS over my P30sk. The sights, feel, and mag release translates well. Trigger is of course different.

I would buy an HK single stack though. In a heartbeat.

I do remember the P7...but I was hoping for a more modern design..I would love to have a HK 380 in a pocket size gun

I just bought a PPS in 9MM. Terrific pistol with a long proven track record and now down under $400. Grabagun has them for $374.

I would not hold my breath for HK making a single stack 9MM. Heck right now there are posts on Pistol Forum that they quit making the VP9 and P30SK until 2016 because the have something else that needs to be done that needs their attention. HK can't even make enough magazines to keep up with demand. Something wrong there.

It did happen, back in 1967.

H&K made the HK-4 from 1967-1984.

Single stacked in .22LR, .25ACP, .32ACP, and .380ACP.
It could caliber convert to any of those with a barrel/recoil spring and magazine swap.
Was sold as a single caliber or together with all the calibers.

They can be found on auction sites in the $500-$1800 range depending on condition and accessories.

With as many single stacks on the market, does it even NEED to happen?

yes.
Nothing fits my criteria of being LCP sized with a good trigger, no safety, useable sights, and reliability.

G42 is too big, LCP/Bodyguard/Pico + a bunch of others have bad triggers, p238 has a safety, and p380 still has tons of QC/reliability issues.

That really shows the early Mauser influence. Beautiful.

Some of the same people that designed the HSc.

The original HK 4 had a larger rounded trigger guard that was more practical, until someone unfortunately decided to redesign it into the flat bottom guard abortion that was released for sale to the public.

Both already have.

Well, considering Heckler and Koch were the designer and the senior engineer at the Mauser factory when it was closed at the end of WWII, that makes sense.

If my P7 PSP had not been stolen I would still be carrying it. I look at police trade ins at shows occasionally but they all have a different mag release than my German Police one had. Also they tend to be well worn......and I am an old fart and can't get past the idea that the "new" used ones I am seeing now "Cost" ,in visible numbers, twice what I paid for my "old" used one in Germany.

For me the P7 was small enough to carry, yet large enough to shoot well. As I only carried at most the mag in it and two reloads I was not concerned if some folks that shoot games complained about the area above the trigger getting too hot.

Did you have an exposed mag release P7 or the type covered by the grips?

The exposed mag was done away by serial number 20,000 give or take (I did not look that up but did it from memory). They were the early ones and the later ones have the covered mag releases.

Compare my 3 to see the difference. The bottom one has the exposed release.

That is a crazy low price for a pistol that, IMHO is superior to the competing pistols from S&W and Glock (if a tad larger). Just a year or two ago they were running $550-600.

Fishbed.....agree 100%. I think the PPS is the perfect CCW. Shoots better than many of my full size.

It was the bottom type.....and no import marks, returning serviceman on a Form 6A.

Man I miss that gun.

The wife used it in Massad Ayoob's LFI1.
