I would like to ask how many rounds the Hk USP,particularly in .45,is good for.I have read in some forums that it is good for only a certain amount of rounds and an average of 30,000 rounds of +p ammo. This info was taken from HK's website under reviews.

Why is this so? Many say that the HK is over engineered and all,so why such a limit on how many rounds on such a well built pistol?

In relation to this, how many standard rounds equals one +p round?

Thanks

Any mechanical thing will eventually wear out. If you shoot only target loads it will last a long time , with full loads shorter life and with +p even shorter life. For those of us who want our guns to last a long time we take very good care of them , no +p no +p+ and we clean and lub often.

Yeah, that 30,000 round life expectancy has bugged me too. I've got 20k+ through my USP 45 & it looks like it'll go ALOT more. I do plan on a spring change at 30k just as preventative maintanence.
Really, I wouldn't really worry about that number...the USP is a very well built & durable pistol that will last far past 30k rounds.

Thanks for the replies. It made me think that why would an HK be any better than a Glock if it lasted that many rounds only, and for the price of HKs,you'd expect them to last forever.

One of my USPs, a 45F has been getting a steady diet of roughly 1000 rounds/month for the past two+ years. Still tight as the day I bought it, although the trigger is super sweet now.

My Expert 45 gets shot more than that, and while only a year old, outshoots every handgun I have.

Boils down to engineering using modern matertials and production methods.
