steel and damages the finished, lost the brightness and dark the metal

It is possible restore the original finished of the stainless steel, Can tell me the treatment necessary for restore please.

A gunsmith could be make the work or I must send the slide to customer service

thanks

I'm not sure, but the slide was probably bead-blasted to begin with.

Polishing the slide removed the slightly rough texture this left, and it can only be restored by another round of blasting.

Two possibilities if the metal turned darker where you polished.

1. Maybe the slide was not stainless steel. Perhaps it was finished with a shiny finish like nickel or chrome. Your polishing work went through the finish. If that is what happened, you will have to have it refinished to repair the problem.

2. If the slide WAS stainless steel, then you may have polished vigorously enough to heat the metal and discolor it. This may have weakened the metal. The slide may be ruined (not possible to be repaired) and may need to be replaced. If the metal is blue and black then that is probably what happened. It should be examined by an expert before you shoot it again.

When you pick up your pistol, forget you own a dremel. When you pick up your dremel, forget you own a pistol. ;)

Hi,

The slide is SS, the dark spots are very light, I will send to gunsmith for a SandBlasting.

The gunsmith said to me that the SandBlasting process must be done with a not contaminated special sand.

Thank for the commentaries

Maximo.-
