on the USP9 compact, does the safety lever click to safe or to fire and stay put?

in other words is it a decocker that returns to fire after to press the lever towards safe?

or does it stay on safe?

Stays on fire after releasing the decocker. Stays there until manually switched to safe position

Still has a closed proprietary rail. And yes if you set it up as a decocker only then there is no safe setting position and it will always return to fire position. The P2000 is an evolution of the USPc that has a standard rail and no safety with a decocker button on the rear of the slide to the left of the hammer. The standard P2k is the same size as the USPc. The P 2Ksk is a smaller subcompact version.

I've got a 40C and it's terrific aside from the obscene cost of the mags.

X-Rap, I also have a USP40c (LEM, "AA" (2000) date code). The USP compacts are nice carry pistols. You can get both the 9mm and .40S&W USP compact mags on CDNN for about $30 each. A little high as mags go, but not too bad.

What's bad are the cost of 9mm/.40 USP Expert/Jet Funnel mags ($60 each) and even worst than that, are the price of P7PSP mags these days ($70). Sure wish I kept my H&K P7PSP and the six mags I had for it. That was a great pistol, but would get too hot very fast while shooting it at the range. Oh well.
