So i picked up my full size usp on saturday in a 9mm. I took it out yesterday to the range and loved it. It felt great. I might even like it as much as my glock's. Now i have to decide on a ccw type gun to replace my glock 19. I am still keeping the glock i am only going to retire it for awhile. So since i love the usp so much i figured i would stick with the same brand. I already have a uspc ss in a .40s&w but it is a little too flashy.(By flashy i mean i need a reason to tell my wife why i need another gun):D So i figured i would get an all black hk uspc or p2000 in a 9mm both da/sa. What does the high road think?

The LEM isn't for everyone because it's unlike anything you've ever fired. Both are phenominal guns, but for concealability the P2K beats the USPc hands down. It's slimmer and lighter, and simply easier to conceal.

I tried the lem and thought it was great but i already have a bunch of glocks that are dao. I think i will stick with the da/sa for now.

I like'em both...tough choice. But I think the refinements in the P2000 makes it a tad more ergonomic.
Just get them both & end this insanity!

I went through the same thing a while ago. First was what polymer gun I'd like to carry. After a while, it came down to either a USPc or P2000.

Now, for me it came down to a few factors:

-First of all, I didn't like the .40 S&W round, so that was out.

I am a big fan of the .45 ACP round, so it came down to caliber also. But I wasn't adverse to carrying a 9mm either since I could shoot it quickly and accurately.

What I LOVED about the USPc was the option to carry in condition 1 (cocked and locked). But really, that was all it had going for it. But it was a BIG factor for me.

Compared to the USP, the P2K had a LOT of pros. The grip was MUCH more comfortable than the blocky USP. The P2000 was smaller than the USPc, which I never did feel that the USPc was much of a compact. The P2000 had a better DA/SA trigger than the USPc. The P2000 could it into USPc holsters, what's not to like! It was compatible with USPc magazines.

Then lastly, remember how I liked condition 1 carry? There was one thing that ruined it for me. I shoot high thumb, so to disengage the safety I ran the possibility of further decocking the gun as I bought it up to presentation. That kicked the option of the USP out to the curb, and now I have a P2000.

Go for the P2000, its a better gun. :)

The USPc ain't bad either, but dang is the P2000 one sweet shooter!

I got a USPc in 9mm a few months back. I did look at the P2000, but as the person above said, I wanted to carry it cocked and locked. So, I ultimately went with the USPc. I ALWAYS keep the gun in that condition (cocked and locked).

Hate to say it, but...

...the P2000 takes the cake. That's hard to say because I own a USPc. The P2000 is the same size, same weight, same everything almost, but the trigger. P2000 has a much nicer trigger and no safety/decocker to get in the way. If I had it to do again, or were looking for a CCW I'd choose a P2000, maybe the P2000SK. Not that I'm putting the USPc down...it is a great pistol.

The P2000 has a more curved slide (less snaggy and squared off), which is nice for CCW. Also, it has adjustable back straps so you can customize your grip to your hand. I hear the trigger is nicer, but I haven't done a head to head comparison.

So basically the P2000 has all the the USP Compact has (depending on the variant you get) PLUS:

1) More rounded profile for less snagging (good for CCW)
2) Adjustible back straps for a custom-fit grip

So my vote goes to the P2000, but the USP Compact is downright awesome, so it's hard to say don't get the USPc. It's really a win-win.
