Looks like HK finally got the message that a striker-fired gun with a decent constant trigger pull is what sells these days. Looks like they finally considered the feedback of offering a lower profile slide with a lower bore axis. They also took the resident High Road cheapskates into consideration, as this gun should eventually come in at under $700 :neener:

I don't care for the crazy long grip. The Batman treatment I can deal with, but a long G17 grip with an abbreviated G19-sized slide assembly seems a little backwards to me. Now, I understand this is being poised as a potential duty/combat pistol, but in that case why not go ahead and make it a full-sized gun and not a half-breed?

The other thing I don't care for is the trough in the trigger guard. Many folks hate it and it doesn't seem to actually offer anything in return. Walther got the message and changed their P99 accordingly, but apparently HK missed this particular memo.

For me, even as someone who generally likes HK products, this one is "close, but no cigar." For striker-fired guns that offer more creature comforts than your run of the mill Glock, I think the Walther P99s and PPQs hit the mark more efficiently than this upcoming offering from HK.

Just my opinion..what's yours?

I really like my HK45. I'd like to try one of these at some point since I've been looking at P30L's.

I'll believe that when I see it.

Definitely peaks my interest. it all hinges on the trigger for me thou. If it's as pathetic as typical HK triggers are, no thanks...

I like it. I think I'd be interested in trying one out.

Is there a webpage that has larger images of the above shots? I'd like to be able to read the info.

As best as I can tell, there's some folks that have seen one for demo purposes that have snapped pics. I don't know where the more official looking docs originate from.

HUGE thread over at HKPro...

OMG I hate their sight . . . .and the ridiculous pop up add every time you go to the next page. But thanks for the link.

In all reality, I would only like to TRY one. I doubt I would spend the money on one.

With both a pair of M&Ps as well as a pair of Glocks, I can't see a reason to switch. Any word on magazine prices? I'd like to have a stack of mags and if these run in at $50-$60 each, I'm really going to lose all interest.

I like the idea of a striker fired P30, so this pistol Is interesting to me. With an msrp of $719, I expect to see it sell in the low $600s, maybe eventually the high $500s.

Kinda reminds me of some other pistol. Hmm... trying to think... it'll come to me in a minute.

Get a pop up blocker... I never new HK pro had pop ups...

It uses the same magazines as the P30. I will bet long slide version will come out as well.

When did H&K start making M&P's? A few years after S&W started making Glocks.

I would be interested if indeed the price, as well as the trigger, were decent enough.

Things that caught my attention;
No buffer. I wonder if the recoil is as light as normal HK standards?
Un-HK like slide release. One reason I like HKs are the excellent controls. Hmmmm.
Many of the P30 attributes at a Glock price... very interesting!!
Lifetime warranty. OK, good.

I suspect it will be similar in many ways to the Walther PPQ, a pistol I like and shoot well, but HKs usually make me smile more. I'll have to fondle one of these soon. My guess is I'll end up with one fairly soon.

Really ?

Almost all of these are Glock clones. Shape, internal parts, pull the slide off, looks just like my Glock 19. That's why I haven't bought another poly gun...they all seem the same.

I have been getting more interested in steel guns because there is some diversity there...

I WILL SAY ...the Glock a bees are the easiest to strip down to all the component parts though...THAT I like....

Could be interesting IF the trigger is nice and it is around $500 (HA HA HA). I didn't see if they listed how many rounds the $60 mags will hold?

That said, that thing is so ugly it makes Glocks look pretty, IMO.

Yuck.

I am given to believe that Herr Glock hired "a few" H&K people to engineer the Glock 17. Glocks are direct decendants of the H&K VP70 and the P7 line. Think about it. Those guys did.

Interesting that both Sig and HK are introducing new striker-fired pistols around the same time the USAF is going to be looking for a replacement pistol.

Coincidence?
