I've never owned an HK, but am thinking about one of these for carry, probably in .40 but perhaps 9mm.

Ergonomically it feels good in my hand, sorta reminds me of my P99C.

How good/bad are P2000 DA/SA triggers?

What's the scoop on the LEM trigger, is it a love/hate thing?

Are HK's easy to field strip for routine maint?

Seems like the SK version is only slightly smaller, not sure I'd bother.

Anything you can tell me, in general about the P2000 would be appreciated. Thanks everybody. :D

My impression of the P2000:
"Bang! Bang!" :neener:

Seriously, the P2000 is a very nice pistol, easy to field strip, great durability, reliablity and fantastic accuracy. I haven't shot the sk yet, but from what been able to tell, it's just as nice but more concealable ;)

DA isn't bad but SA is excellent, IMO. Bad should not be used in the same sentence as HK. :D

Easier to do than a Glock and you don't have to pull the trigger. Just pull the slide back to where the slide lock notch is, push the slide lock out and the slide forward and that's it.

Simply awesome!

I've had my P2000 V3 9mm for a week now, and I never shot a polymer pistol that felt so good! This is my introduction back into polymer pistols and was a great gun to get back into it, because I'm in love with this gun. The ergonomics are great, very comfortable grip, and easy to shoot. I actually like the location of the decock lever, and the slide stop is in a position I'm used to (just like the 1911s).

Take down is simple, and to clean only takes a few minutes total.

Accuracy was quite amazing. I was shooting through the same hole at 7 yards, and a 1 nice ragged hole at 12 yards. Recoil is very minimal and easily controllable.

I'm a critic when it comes to guns. It takes quite a lot for me to be impressed by a pistol. But that first shot made me breathless. Sorta like a polymer pistol with soul. Blasphemy huh? Yep!

I'm a believer once again in plastic. :)

tupperware power!

Recoil?

Richard - you mention minimal recoil from the P2K.

I guess I can assume HK's recoil reduction system works well in hotter calibers like .40 and .357 Sig? Who's tried one of these babies?

Well, I've shot the USPc .40, and didn't think the recoil was all that bad. But I've yet to shoot a P2000 in .40 S&W. Definitely snappy, and it might make me tired of shooting within 100 rounds. But easier to shoo than say, a Glock 23.

btw, I forgot to add regarding the P2000. The DA trigger absolutely, positively, sucks. Its quite heavy and gritty. The Single action trigger pull is quite nice however.

I've had my v2 .40 P2000 for several months and I love everything about it.

The recoil management is great. I have a 2000SK in .40 (V3) and the recoil is about the same as my full size USP Expert!

Accuracy is great. The SA trigger is very nice and the initial DA pull isn't too bad once you get used to it. The gun has been flawless for over a year. I even shot a few IPSC matches with it and did pretty well.

I agree about the 2000 not being much larger than the SK. If carried IWB the extra slide length won't make a difference. The grip on a 2000 is longer though, which may be just enough cause some concealability issues for you--depends on your build and how you carry and what holster.

What do you think of the mag release? It reminds me of the one found on the Walther P99s. Did you have a hard time getting used to it from a standard push button style one?

H&K=Perfection

Are you a righty or a lefty, im an ambedex shooter, both the slide release and mag release are amb. but the decocker is not... right handed is great, left handed its a bit awkward reaching over the hammer. otherwise a great gun, awesome control and accuracy... the SK isnt worth the price to me for a 1/2 in shorter. overall best gun I own.....over P99, USPc

p.s. .40 cal is the way to go.....!!! hope that helps
