OK after much time accumulating tooling and a misstep or two I have finally finished the first turret and wanted to post some pics.I also made the handles
Yours will be on its way shortly Reinz. Lauderdale I have been so busy getting the tooling and working on the turrets that I haven't been to the range at all this summer dont have anything to load
MDphotographer has the part that I really wanted..THE PRESS..!!!!
I bought this measure at a local gun show for $10 about 8 years ago and it's been on my bench working perfectly ever since. It's made like a tank just like the presses..!!!
I kick myself every time I look at it because the guy I bought it from had 2 of the measures and I just bought ONE..!!!
I have 2 die holes out of seven left when I took this picture.
It's nice to have extra stations, thats why I always wanted the Hollywood turrets but their hard to find.
Don it is a great press I love mine. I have been toying with the idea of making the entire press but it wouldn't be cheap and I don't know if I could make it as refined with all the rounded edges that the original has through straight machining of CR steel and I dont think it would be cost effective having the base and shell carrier parts cast.
MDphotographer, what is it that you make?
Sorry, I have been on this forum for about 4 years but never posted much until now.
I thought from your post that you rebuilt old Hollywood presses?
The ones I have seen online in some kind of working order have been about $800 on up..!!! ( They were built so well...Thats why I like the Redding T7.)
Right now I am making extra turrets for the Hollywood Sr press I will probably also make some if anyone wants one for the Hollywood Universal turrets and maybe the super turret.I have been toying with the idea of making the complete senior turret press.
WoW...Thats a cool idea.
It may take some capitol, but it should take off if they are anything like the originals..!!!
I like a well built press, it doesn't have to be a wiz-bang one like the Dillons, but built well and does what it's suppose to do and well..!!
I always wanted one, I think it's the Sr. one???
Is that the one with a "Bunch" of die holes(stations?).
One of them had a hydraulic ram or a special cam linkage to make it easy to use.
Thats why I like my T7 press...Make like a tank..!!
