Hollywood Studios To Restrict Real Guns, Could They Enter The Market?

And what business would "prop" firearm armories have if all of Hollywood went gun-free for scenes? I can see some deal being made of armories destroying their stock of prop and real firearms in order for them to stay on Hollywood payroll making CGI or flashpaper firearms. Hey destroy those evil guns for us and you can make the fake ones for the next movie/TV show. A lot of these prop gun armories would not exist without Hollywood.

Hollywood armories tend to be part of larger prop houses that supply most everything imaginable to the film/TV industry.

We have already seen shows like The Sopranos using CGI'd flash-and-bang inserted (no ejection and slide doesn't reciprocate)

I would think that if the prop house could authenticate the use of particular guns by certain stars or in certain movies, they could bring a good chunk of money at auction- like Han Solo's blaster recently did.

Usually, with movies like the James Bond franchise, filmed across multiple locations in multiple countries, there is no 'one' gun used by the hero but many guns in many local movie-industry suppliers' inventories.

Sure, but sometimes props can be matched up to screen shots illustrating a unique pattern, damage, etc, on a particular prop. Plus, there are some people that would pay a stupid amount of money for anything actually used in a Bond (or insert another popular franchise) movie.

It would probably depend on if the item could be documented or not.
