Holster Considerations for Pocket Carry J-Frame

The reason I went to the cardboard and gorilla tape wrap holster was so the gun would sit lower in my pocket. But I finally figured out that it was because the Elite holster was square bottom and my pocket was rounded bottom with the front edge straight. So I trimmed the holster just past the seam cutting off the extra flap. Now it sits as low in the pocket as with the cardboard wrap holster. You might ask, why not get the Mika holster? Mainly because this one now works and because the Mika is closed on the bottom, and so would ride higher in the pocket. This one came open, I sewed it, then removed the stitching (red thread still in place in picture). You might also notice a single stitch of red thread at the opening to slightly tighten it up.

Another option is find pants large squared front pockets. Then I could run this holster from my opening post with the speed strip strapped in (and another speed strip in my other pocket).

My parting thought on the subject: Do NOT be shy about experimenting and coming up with something that works for YOU. Your body and mind is slightly (or very, for some of us) different than anyone else's. Do not consult a popularity poll about personal things. Blaze your own trail.
