Well, I'm almost done with selling off all the old holsters I never use anymore and just about ready to buy the one or two that will work for me long term.
Here's what I'm thinking... for my full-size USP .45 and 9mm a Dillon Master (OWB, belt slide, in "tactical" black of course!). I'd get it sized for the .45 and live with the fact that the 9mm is just a hair smaller and won't fit as perfect. I think I'd like this holster for a couple reasons: I've heard good reviews on it from current owners; it's a belt slide; 15 degree cant; Dillon customer service reputation.
For my compact USP .45 and 9mm, a Milt Sparks VM2. I don't plan on going the "tuckable" route with the VM2 and the USPs because of the guns thickness. Maybe someday I'll pick up a VM2 for my 1911 or Sidearmor's new 4th gen kydex for the 1911... if I decide tuckable is a requirement. I think I'd like this holster for pretty much the same reasons as I'd like the Dillons, except this is in a IWB package: excellent reviews from current owners, an IWB with loops on the ends, not on the side; 15 degree cant; customer service reputation.
I thought for a moment about getting the VM2 for the full-size .45 and then using it for all 4 guns, but I don't think I'd be happy with the fit on the compacts. The only real reason for me to consider this route would be to see how well the full-size .45 or 9mm works with a good quality IWB. The $100 price tag doesn't really allow me to do much "testing" though if you know what I mean... probably better off to just get it for the exact model I want to carry.
So... my question to the fine folks of THR is: are there any other makes/manufacturers I should be checking out that will meet my requirements or are equivalent to the two I've already got me eye on?
My requirements in a nutshell: 15 degree cant, conducive to concealed carry; excellent reputation; long-lasting (don't want to have to buy another one anytime soon because of wearing out).
Suggestions?
