I'm in the process of figuring out a good way to carry my gun in my car. I'm not looking for a way to carry my gun on me while in my car I want it to be on the car and still accesible in case of an emergency. I normally leve in on the passengers seat with something covering it but I don't think that's safe enough, plus I think that having to grab the gun from under a coat might take longer that it should in case I need to use the gun. My idea was to adapt a holster to the right side of the driver's seat between the seat and the console, has anyone ever done something like this or at least has any ideas on how to accomplish this? The holster can be fixed to the car (not permanently) meaning it doesn't have to be something that I will take with me when I leave the vehicle, the gun will come with me but the holster will stay. Thak you guys for any thoughts.

I think I'd put one in the door as well. If somebody wants to carjack you, you can reach for it unnoticed (looks like you're just opening the door). In the middle, it could be pretty obvious.

Just a thought..

That'd be a big holster. Let me know what the most engine is you can conceal and how much gas it holds.

Oh, sorry, you meant a holster IN your car.

You could consider mounting between center console but low, right about where you would go to release your seat belt.

You might want to look at the Fobus Roto-Holsters. They have an optional mount that lets you attach their holster in a vehicle. You can remove the holster from the car mount, attach a paddle, and slip it on your belt in a few seconds if you want to carry the gun on your person. Plus, since the holster isn't permanently mounted, it's easy to change holsters in the car if you carry more than one type gun.

Your english was fine. I would have asked it the same way. There were just good opportunities there that I would have been disappointed if someone didn't take if I posted that question.

Most of the folks on here have a great sense of humor, and are quick to point out any question or statement that might have more than one meaning... It's all in fun.

What I use for "in the car" is just one of the Uncle Mike's nylon clip-on holsters that holds an extra mag on front. But I have "60/40" bench seats, so I just slide it between the two seats, right next to the seatbelt. I'm left handed, so if I ever had to reach for my pistol, it SHOULD look like I'm undoing my seatbelt. There's a big console in the middle too, so you can't see the pistol when I'm sitting in the car.

I don't know where you'd find one online, but I bought a neat holster at a gun show that was a square piece of nylon with a stiff back, and a big piece of elastic covering the whole front and a stitch half way down the middle. It had velcro on the back so you could attach it wherever. It was ambi, and you could hold your spare mag in whichever side you didn't use for the gun.

If you have a place for Velcro, what about the Blackhawk "universal" holster?

It's made to attach inside a fannypack or briefcase, but you could buy some velcro and stick it wherever you wanted.

I attached a nylon holster to a nylon belt. Then I put it around the seat. Yes the part you sit on. The holster hangs in front between your legs. I have a blanket seat cover," my work is very dirty" over the seat. The Makarov is always very handy. It works in my F-250. I bought the shoulder holster at a garage sale-$1.50. It works for me.

Just FYI from personal experience (mine and others).

The Fobus Roto-Holster looks like a great concept, since it's so versatile in the ways it can be used... But for plain ole' paddle or belt attachment in a CCW role, it STINKS! It sticks out at least 3/4" or more farther than a standard Fobus Paddle, and it's quite obvious even under the baggiest of clothes.

But with the available shoulder holster, leg rig, and car attachments, it appears that it does have it's place.
