Hello All
i have been searching for a pancake holster for a 38 special 2'' snub that rides up nice and high about the belt line.
getting tired of searching. any one have any suggestions?
so far it looks like the demon 11 speed scabbard by bell charter oak is what i am looking for.
anyone use this one or maybe something close?
thanks
Mike

The 2 inch 38 was carried by thousands of detectives over the years. Most holster companies have a pancake style for 2 inch 38s. What frame size is it? If it is a S&W K frame or similar you should have no trouble finding one. Check out the Bianchi Shadow. DeSantis also has good holsters. I used a Bianchi Shadow for a 2 1/2 inch S&W 66 about 20-25 years ago and it did great.

Go to Gunners Alley and look through their offerings.. Not a pancake but for snub etc the Don Hume JIT holster is a great choice and affordable. They offer other manufacturers also. search around a bit the sight is easy to navigate

Overall I'm a Don Hume fan from way back.. The JIT will be a make on order sale from Hume so turn around will be slow

Not in my experience, I've always gotten them in a week or so, which I don't consider slow. Now mine have always been for semi-autos, so they might keep them in stock moreso than for revolvers.

Either way, great holster, good price. I highly recomend them, also.

In the last year I've bought two Don Hume JIT holsters from a display rack at my LGS. You might want to visit or call around, someone may have one in stock.

There are many good holsters from good companies around and many are listed in this thread. I feel the holsters made by Simply Rugged are slightly above the rest, not in looks and being fancy but because they work! (and they are made of good leather that will last a very long time)

Galco Combat Master. I have one for a 4" S&W K-frame, but they make them for 2" J-frames too.

American Pride....about 25 bucks on eBay. I wore mine today about 10 hours and forgot I had it on.

I have a Gould and Goodrich pancake holster that I use to carry a 4" Security Six. It sits nice and high, and it has a retention strap with a snap. If they make a 2", it'll sit that much higher. (but I'm looking at their catalog now and I don't see much for revolvers :()
