Okay guys, I just picked myself up a Kel Tec P3-AT. I like it's duminitive size and it carrys pretty well in my back pocket, but id also like something just a little more secure. I like IWB for fullsize guns but im not sure on that for something like the kel tec. So im open to other suggestions, I just don't really know what else is out there for guns this size. The main problem I have with pocket carry is rust from sweat (I live in arizona and don't spend all of my time inside). It seems I got a little bit of surface rust from carrying in my pocket all day yesterday, I cleaned it off pretty easy but it's still something i'd like to avoid.

I use an Uncle Mike's pocket holster, and drop the pistol in my left front pocket. It hasn't rusted in a South Carolina summer, but I haven't carried it as much as I'd planned, so take that for what it's worth.
Most of the leather and kydex holsters I've looked at for the Kel-Tec seems to be about the same bulk as the gun, unfortunately. I think one of them actually weighed more (Not that it's hard).

Is it going to be a primary carry gun, or a backup?

On a lark I picked up a Comp-Tac Centerline neck holster that my dealer had in stock. It's turned out to be a great holster - especially with a t-shirt and athletic shorts in the summer.

I use a grandfather oak pocket holster, for the price of 18 bucks you cant beat it and its made out of kydex

I just drop mine into my pocket.....

and use a folded hankie to break up the outline. When you grab the pistol, your fingers will push the hankie out of the way. It does not work too well on snug jeans though.........Never had a rust problem.....chris3

Surprised no one's mentioned the Mika yet. I used to carry my P3AT in a Desantis Nemesis, but my Mika pocket holster arrived today and I'll never switch back. I'm a big fan of the larger Nemesis pocket holsters, but the one for the P3AT was lacking.

I suppose I should have mentioned a few thing first. I'd like for it to be able to double as a backup for edc (I carry a jericho iwb 8 o'clock), and something for short trips or casual dress. I also generaly wear pretty fitted jeans, and even getting my keys out of my front pocket can be a little tricky. So I guess that somewhat rules out pocket holsters? I never thought of the hankerchife idea, something like that draped out of the back pocket sounds like a pretty good idea.

Here's a vote for K&D holsters. Really nice pocket holster for a good price, plus he has a template for a P3AT with an Armalaser.

I like a holster that completely covers the pistol's side that will be up against my sweaty body, like this "Trickster" pocket holster from DeSantis.

Anybody make a rear-pocket holster with a kydex (or similar) anti-print panel? Leather anti-print panels seem to lose their shape after awhile.

The K&D holster (with the "2-in-1" option) actually does have an anti-print panel, but it's removable. Mine isn't on in the picture.

I have an xtra small smartcarry for my p-3at and it doesn't matter what kind of pants or shorts you wear it just disappears underneath them. It works very well in the summer when wearing nylon shorts where even the KT's small weight in the pocket is annoying. I've never had a problem with rust using it since the rear panel is waterproof to keep persperation away from the firearm. With a little practice you can draw from the smartcarry very quickly. I can draw from the smartcarry just as fast as I can from my Nemesis pocket holster.
