I have a Sentry "Gunsafe" that is not fire resistant. Has anyone tried to fireproof a safe?

I've entetained the idea of placing some type of insulating material around the safe, but other than abestos, I don't know of any material to use. I'm not even sure of the cost or hazards of using abestos type material as my experience is limited to gloves used to change barrels on a .50 cal.

Any suggestions other than "Just buy a fireproof model"?

Drywall sheets. btw, there aren't any fireproof safes, they will all heat up. Most damage comes from water in a fire rather than heat.
