Four charged in Bear home invasion

Four people are in custody – including a 16-year-old boy – in connection with a home invasion robbery late Tuesday at the Rockwood Apartments in Bear where they held the four occupants at gunpoint.

New Castle County police spokesman Cpl. Trinidad Navarro said a man was accosted in the parking lot about 10 p.m. by four assailants who pistol-whipped him, stole his wallet and forced him to take them to his third-floor apartment.

After the victim took the assailants to his apartment, they forced their way in and held him, two women and a child at gunpoint.

Navarro said a person who witnessed the parking lot assault called police, who arrived within minutes.

One of the assailants, meanwhile, saw the officers through a window pull up outside and asked the victim where was the back door. Because there was no other exit from the third floor, the foursome fled to the balcony, where the victim locked the door behind them, trapping them.

The assailants jumped to the balcony below and burst into a second-floor apartment. Officers heading up to the third floor heard screams coming from a second-floor apartment, broke down the door and found the four assailants hiding under “trash and debris,” Navarro said.

The suspects, who are all from Philadelphia, are now being charged.

Holy dog doo doo Batman! According to the article, they "...found the four assailants hiding under 'trash and debris,'..."! That's a lot of trash and deris to hide 4 people! :neener: That person needs to clean their apartment!!!!!

What kind of a "man" leads 4 perps...I mean, pervs, back to his family?! Die alone like a man, not like a coward with your family! Better yet, get a gun and fight back!

Yeah, in the town of Moose, which is on the Tiger River. At least the town was bear, not bare. :scrutiny:

And how many of us practice gun "take away" moves? Sometimes it's quicker to take a perps gun from him than it is to draw and fire your own. If I was in that unarmed dudes place, and if your going to "die with dignity", at least try and go down fighting...

These same takeaway moves are practiced in prison by crooks and can be against us. :uhoh: Just a thought.

"That's a lot of trash and deris to hide 4 people!" If it was a college student's place, wouldn't be hard in the least to find enough trash. Old papers, printed notes, junk mail...

So... somebody invaded a bear's home?

That wouldn't have protected his family. After killing him, the perps/pervs could have gone through his pockets, gotten his keys and driver's license and waltzed right up into his apartment.

Better yet, get a gun and fight back!

This is a much better suggestion.

They most likely wouldn't be hanging around after a gunshot to go check out his house. That sort of thing tends to alert the police.

Surely

the mayor of Philadelphia will apologize to the victim that because of Philly's lax law enforcement, BGs can go across the borders into neighboring states.

Careful now, we'll have antis putting the Masschusetts spin on this. "Delaware gun crime is caused by guns coming across the state line from Pennsylvania."

Unless, of course, the perps/pervs turn out to be the halfway smart types that simply use a firearm to force the victim to submit and then beat or knife the victim to death.
