Home Invasion Robberies and Dogs

Did I read the article correct where it says the robbers blungeoned the victim with a stereo? There is another thread discussing bats and other blunt type weapons... Never thought of using a stereo. I suppose this was a large shelf type stereo, because it doesn't make sense to use a car stereo. I can see a robber assaulting someone with a detachable car stereo face.

Why the heck would you steal a chihuaha. I absolutely loath those things. Even if I meant to unload it for some cash, I don't think I could stand it long enough to make the sale. I'd have to sell a chihuaha skin slippers or something. Unless, they stole it so they could torture the damn thing. These guys seem like they might be sadistic enough to do something like that.
Or is that me being sadistic?

My rhodesian ridgeback chased two of my friends, whom he had met before, into the bathroom and held them there for 45min until i got home. First and only time he has ever showed aggression beyond barking at the front door. Even though they had met Max before they both said it a good thing they chose the bathroom because having a 125lb. dog barking and snapping at them almost made them sh*t their pants.

Gents, it is not the size of the dog in the fight, it is the size of the fight in the dog. Not saying they won't die, most dogs will lose in a fight to a well motivated human, but the human will know they've been kissed.

I had a lady neighbor who owned a standard beagle during a string of break in/rapes. She answers the door and there was a guy there wearing a electric company uniform asking to come in and read the meter. Her beagle, a real mild mannered, love everybody ~25 pound dog just goes ballistic. Barking, snarling and snapping at the panel on the storm door. Meter reader leaves post haste while she's trying to get her dog under control. She sees him leaving in a car, not a utility truck.

Dogs are a sensor platform first, a force multiplier second.
