I have been pondering building a wooden base & clear cover for my balance beam scale to protect it.

I been searching the hobby store sites for a plastic box whose lid I could use.
I would route the base to fit the cover etc..

I'm wondering it anyone here has been there already.

I’ve been using fishing tackle boxes for years to transport my gear when I reload outside. The variety of sizes and configuration is the big problem. I went through a few before I found one that is just right.

I made a simple levelling platform for mine and I use a plastic storage container, juts flipped upside down:

I then use the container as a base for my laptop when using my document camera while loading.

I put mine back in their original boxes and in the cabinet I keep them in, except for the cheap ones. Just like my other fine measuring tools, I want to stay that way.

I suppose that’s one reason I like the 10-10, it is it’s own “protective case”.

My RBCS kit beam is as tough as nails, I can probably throw it across the room and it would still hold zero

I do exactly the same. Cover, box and all since '77-'78. Like those 'ol 10-10's.

A lot easier to see those lines on a screen…may look into this !

Scale Dust Cover
Haagen Dazs box:

The light to the right has been moved over to a side drop down shelf, the reason for the wires in front of the scale...
Light is moved over/above the scale when loading. 🤔
.

I have the Ohaus 10-10 and the cover makes it's nice for storingit away. I use mine so often I hate taking it apart and having to set it back up all the time. I store it on a shelf under another shelf to protect from dust...

What scale? Just use a Sterlite shoebox size from Walmart I use them for lots of things
