Moosehunt, can not be done, because? I do understand, I will add another rational, he can not afford you, too expensive, I will add that to, He does not know how or he does not have the tools or he is not asking the correct person, I do not make excuses for me or someone else.
I went to Arlington, TX to pick up a mill I purchased from a collector, while loading the mill and parts he told me he was building an 03 needed to check the head space, I ask him how, he responded with a go-gage, I then told him the go-gage would only tell him the bolt will close, nothing else, the gage will not tell him how much head space the rifle has. We now knows his rifle, if built with the straight handle bolt, had from .006 to .0075 thousands if he fired the new Remington box of 20 rounds he furnished, I offered to allow him to change bolts and or ammo and if he needed one I could furnish one of 22 old new bolts if he thought changing the bolt would change head space, I told him I could call him and tell him the effect each bolt had on head space, I did tell him it would take me a few minutes to make a tool that would check his straight handle bolt, and I explained to him head space did not start with 'datum line', head space on the 30/06 starts with a hole of .375 thousands (3/8 of an inch),
There are all kinds of excuses for can't and shouldn't, I do not make many of them.
