Homemade Case Feeder

Makes me think. I have a hornady case feeder. When using .45 ACP sometimes the case will get caught (where depicted below). I was thinking of a fix. I noticed the home made one had the raised plastic portion extend all the way to the wall of the bowl.

I could build it up with some epoxy to not allow a case to get stuck....

I could remove some of the plastic to make the gap wider. (I'm not sure if that can be done due to hollow on the underside... Don't have the plate to look at.)

Which do you think might be better.. Or a better idea?

How exactly does he get it to fall the right way? I watched the video a couple times to see if I could figure out how it makes it fall bottom first.

Can anyone explain it?
