My home owners policy with Westfield only covers $1000 worth of guns then I had to buy riders at $20 per $1000. I think that is beginning to be more and more of a standard thing.

It is.

Farmers' Insurance still covers my house because it didn't demand a list of makes, models, and serial numbers of my firearms.

American Family got my car insurance business because its rates were considerably lower than Farmers', but didn't get my house insurance because it demanded that I register my guns.

State Farm tried to avoid paying off a claim when I had some firearms stolen quite a few years ago. I had to contact my state attorney general's office. I'll never do business with that bunch of wannabe thieves again!

My homeowners (via Grange) doesn't seem to care, but here's a laugher...

They have a specific rule against... TRAMPOLINES ??

I could have a GE Minigun tucked in the attic, and it wouldn't bother them a bit, but were I to put a trampoline in the yard, they'd dump me? :scrutiny:

Insurance companies are straaaange.
Shop around tho, only way to get the coverage you want.

Trampolines are more hazardous than firearms in the home is why the won't cover them. On a percentage basis of trampolines in homes and firearms in homes a trampoline is far more likely to result in death or permanent injury than the gun.
