Hope you fathers had a Happy Father's Day.

Did you guys get to do something gun related?

I just got my Perry Suspenders, Uncle Mike's Mirage belt, and my Teb Blocker IWB shirt tucker holster. Then on Father's Day I tried them out, found that combination comfortable for my H & K Compact .40, and got to go to a sit down dinner that night with several guys that I know are shooters.

Whoo hoo. They didn't even spot the rig, even when we got down to sitting and chatting after dinner when the jackets came off and we rolled back our shirt sleeves and loosened the ties.

So how was your Father's Day?

I got the best gift a father could have. Time with my family.

I played golf Saturday with my son and spent Sunday at the house with wife, kids and friends swimming and drinking Fat Tire beer. :D

This was my first Father's Day and I couldn't have asked for a better one.

The day started with an early morning trip to the range (nothing new for Sundays). When I returned home my wife and 11 month old son had blueberry waffles and a bunch of gifts, including an I-Shot range bag, waiting for me. The three of us then went to the Army Transportation Museum, which is right down the road at Ft. Eustis. We finished the day with lasagna, the NBA playoffs and a new episode of the Family Guy! WHAT A DAY! :D

My son recently returned from 15 months in Afghanistan and presented this to me for Father's Day.

Information is a little sketchy...I believe it's a Martini-Enfield manufactured in armories set up in Afghanistan by the British (late 1800's). He picked this up in Kabul and was told these were the famed rifles of the "Kyber Pass". If only guns could talk....would love to have the history behind it.

Anyone know much about these?

I had a great day with all of my family, except for my son-in-law who is a firefighter and was on duty. I have three grandchildren: 16 months, 3 years, and 7 years old. Being a father is super and being a grandfather is superb.

Guns and gun related gifts are most excellent but power tools are a close second. I got a Troy-Bilt Power Washer with a 4.5 HP Briggs & Stratton engine. My world will soon be a cleaner place!

I started the day out in church with my family. Went to chinese buffet for lunch and got a Do-All Competitor trap. I will be trying it out tomorrow night on the range.

Wouldn't trade fatherhood for anything....... :)

this is what i could find quickly about your afgahn mk from www.gunboards.com

BSA made:
24,125 Rifles Mk1 second pattern in 1873
9,000 Rifles Mk1 third pattern in 1875 (without butt swivels)
these were contracted for british army in india nepal
I would check at www.martinihenry.com for more info.

thats way cool, got to be second best father's day gift you got only surpassed by your son getting back in one piece.

I had a great day. My kids, wife and I went to my brother's house down in MA. We got together with my brother, my Dad, my StepDad, and my Grandad, so five Dads total.

Saturday night my son "took" me to the local stock car races at Old Dominion Speedway (he's only nine, so he had to ask me to drive :p ) for Father's Day. He was bummed because, for reasons unknown, he thought I'd be able to drive in the race. Well, I'm willing, but the car owners weren't offering.

Yesterday, played at the pool, evening Mass (I do the readings), trip to the bookstore and dinner out.

One of the better weekends I can recall. Love that boy!

Shotgunning : The Art and Science, by Bob Brister ( we can blame sm for this one :p )

A couple CD's (Irish folk/Pub songs)

A haircut. I always feel better afterwards. Not as good as recoil therapy, but it works.

Semi-Gun related Gift

My wife and daughter gave me an Strider SnG folder for Father's Day. Not a new gun, but something I've been wanting for several years. I'm just worried, because I can't have two competing addictions on my budget :)
