It's been a while since I've posted in the shotgun forum. I've posted about this shotgun in both the Firearms Research forum and the Gunsmithing forum.

It's a H&A Sidelock Hammer Double model built on the Davenport design. 4th model. It is a boxlock frame with sideplates. Davenport was bought by H&A in 1901 but continued to operate under the Davenport name until 1910. I can't pin down a manufacture date any narrower than 1902 through 1915/16 or whenever H&A went bankrupt. It's choked full/modified and has 28" barrels (I think)

Well, I took her to the range today for pattern and full function testing. The shotgun functioned fine despite the right hammer being softer than the left. All rounds were ignited. Both barrels patterned a little right of POA. but that was probably me. Since I last shot a shotgun at a moving Target, I have lost all useful Vision in my right eye. So the function test was not only for the shotgun but the shooter as well. I was happy to find that I could hit targets left-handed. However awkward it may have felt. The shotgun did beat up the knuckles on my left hand. But I'm going to pawn that off as poor form on my part. I plan to return to my shotgun instructor who helped me shoot better right handed a couple of years ago to help me transition to shooting left-handed.

Here are the obligatory pictures. These are the same as appear in the Firearms Research forum. I take poor pictures:
