Hoppe's BoreSnake vs. SSI Knockout?

No personal experiance with that brand.
But it should work just as well as any other bore-snake.

Which IMO, is not nearly as good as a real cleaning rod, brushes, and patches.
Nothing can replace them.

I only have one bore-snake, and only use it with older Winchester lever-action .22 & 25 cal center-fires and .22 pumps that can't be cleaned from the breech end with a cleaning rod.

yeah...this will be for my newly acquired buckmark...the one thats a pain the field strip....it's manual says to clean from the muzzle :-/
 
I always wonder why folks like these things. It might work great the 1st time. On using it a 2nd time would'nt you be allowing old dirt and possible abrasives to enter the barrel? I believe the role of 'Bore Cleaning' is to remove dirt/contaminates not introduce it. IMHO

sorry but this seems obvious to me. You wouldn't use a dirty cleaning patch would you?
