No because I don't run suppressed. If one did it might be a good idea. It's a very tailored purpose bullet that doesn't meet my needs.Has anyone tried the 30 caliber 190 grain sub-x in a 308 Win bolt rifle with 1::10 twist?
Thanks
Maybe not energy wise, but ime a suppressed subsonic round through well scoped 308 20 in bolt is A LOT quieter than a suppressed 45 acp through semi carbine. In addition, it is significantly more accurate at any kind of distance. Lapua's 200 subsonic bullet stabilizes well in the rifle, and just going to check alternatives that expand.I've shot a number of cast and coated 150's in one using trailboss.
Doesn't make as much sense as just shooting a 45 acp carbine but it was something I hadn't done to that point.
The main goal is to have same capability of subsonic 300 bh, without changing to another rifle. That and have a lot of these bullets. While i don't have recordings, a subsonic out of a bolt 308 is closer to as quiet as a bolt 22 lr with subsonics, as it is to my 45 acps. The 45's are semi's, larger bore, shorter barrels and slower powders. The longer 308 barrel does put the muzzle considerably further front. The goal wasn't to maximise the energy, as am occasionally working on 300 gn subsonic 44 mag loads in lever for that.I don't know about that, my 458 socom isn't that loud and isn't too bad accuracy wise, also throws more than twice the weight down range (the only way to gain energy once you set a subsonic speed limit).

What is the goal or is it just for play?
If you want a 45cal subsonic 45colt is likely a better choice... That .458 socom is very nice! Have been thinking on 45-70 subsonics, but that may end up being more expensive/work than a socom upper on ar lower?
