Since I bought 500 of the bullets and don't want to trim hundreds of 44 mag cases to Hornady length, can I just load these in 44 special cases and load as 44 special to shoot out my S&W 629 or Henry Big Boy 44 magnum firearms?

They might be a tad longer than typical 44 special cartridges but I theorized they might be useful in this way. I do have a 44 special revolver but I would imagine I would have to trim the 44 special cases for that so I just want to make use of them in the magnum firearms in 44 mag brass.

Sigsmoker,

"................. so I just want to make use of them in the magnum firearms in 44 mag brass."

If you meant .44 Spec. brass, then the answer is Yes.
If you mean .44 Mag brass, then the answer would be No.

Hope this helps,

That's good news Joe

Yes I meant 44 spl brass to shoot out of 44 mag firearms. Sorry.

Do you know what the OAL should be using these bullets is or should I just crimp them at the line and not worry? AND THANK YOU for the response!

Sigsmoker,

Try PMing 243winxb.
He may post the information from the latest Hornady manual. He was good enough to fix me up with the info a while back however I seem to have misplaced it.

Good Luck!

243winxb,
If you respond could you please post the screenshot of the .44 Mag loading info on the open forum again. I seem to have misplaced mine.

Thanks,
