I'm interested in loading this bullet in .223 Remington. It isn't specifically listed in my old Hodgdon, Sierra, Speer, Lyman or Lee manuals. The Hornady website is not help, they only list one 45 grain bullet in their "Products" ????.

Can anyone cite a source?

I'm currently loading 69 grain SMKs with Varget and CCI primers for a 24" 1x9 barrel. I've seen posts that give good results in a 1x9.

Thanks,
callgood

I would work up to 25gr of Varget in sorted LC or WW brass. I would use RP 7.5 primer. TAC is nice alternative but use CCI 450 primers, but Varget works too. RL15 is another alternative to consider!

Work up to 25g VV N-140 or RE-15, Rem 7-1/2, LC brass. Optimum velocity should be between 2600fps and 2700fps with the 1 in 9. If those don't get the accuracy try BL-C-2 using 77g. Seirra data and work up cautiously.
Sign up at http://www.huntingnut.com/index.php and check out the reloading database. bunch of good loads.

I use 24gr-24.5gr RE15 in commercial RP or Win brass over CCI small rifle primers. That load is good for 2700fps out of my 20" tube and 2625fps out of my 16" tube, and has been rock solid. Book max for RE15, according to Alliant, is 24.1gr under a 77gr Sierra.
