Hornady Custom XTP JHP VS Hornady Critical Defense Xtp

Hey guys, i was looking for a good 9mm 115 grain self defense hollowpoint. I liked the things i was hearing on the hornady's round for 9mm. I went out and bought 1 box of the custom XTP jhp, and one box of the critical defense. i shot more accurately with the custom xtp as opposed to the critical defense. so my question is, besides the little plastic insert inside the critical defense, is there any difference between the two rounds?

Am i going to be giving up performance in any way by using the custom xtp round without the insert?

Thanks.

Dan.
Isn't BS terminology like: "Personal", "Custom", "Extreme", "Critical",......designed to provide manufacturers with extra shelf space and means of charging us extra cash?

It's almost like they're running a business or something....

They gotta call it something.

They are trying to sell you something.

They do need to make money to stay in business.

They do develop new and better products.

"You hear a lot of that from guys who use the word "newfangled" a lot and refused to buy microwaves or cars with automatic transmissions when they first came out. lol"

I prefer straight cut gears in my vehicles with manual trannies and no synchros . None of that modern stuff synchros and helical cut gears.
Also prefer vinyl and turntables. Microwave naw Weber kettle with real hardwood charcoal. A good day is never using the clutch except to start
and going up and down through the gears even on a modern manual trannie w/o the clutch.

Back on topic Use the round that you shoot the best and provides the best groups. If you are shooting a round you are not comfortable with it is as bad
as drinking cheap beer that should be used for steaming crabs only.
