So I started loading two years ago. Got a great deal on a Hornady LnL single stage kit and went for it. I have always liked their ammo and figured their reloading equipment would be good as well. Overall I was happy with my purchase, but have upgraded a few items along the way, as well as adding a few things needed/wanted. Fast forward...

Last year I purchased a Hornady prep center trio from a discount place for the sole purpose of chamfering and deburring new brass. It worked great except one head didn't spin. So I took it apart and found a broken gear, and figured I would call and order a gear or two at some point. Life happened and I didn't call until about March of this year.

So around March I called to order the gear and thought why not get a couple extra just in case another breaks. The person who answered the phone was very polite and asked how they could help me. I explained my situation and I told them I had purchased the unit used at a discount store and wanted to buy a few gears to fix it and have a few spares just in case.

They had already gotten my contact info and serial number at the start of the conversation and all they said was "It's on the way". I replied that they didn't have my payment info, but they refused to take my money. A few days later I had a gear kit in the post box at no charge to me, even after explaining I'd bought it used and offering to pay several times.

Next, about six weeks ago I ordered my third Hornady powder measure. It arrived as scheduled, and the plain brown box looked good. Opening the box I saw the powder measure box was beat up and proceeded to inspect the measure. It looked good, not a mark on it, however once assembled the metering insert would not screw in or out without a lot of force. I actually had to use pliers at some places to even turn it. I tried to fix it and ended up calling Hornady about three weeks ago and explained my situation.

The guy on the phone was very polite and helpful, and told me to send it back. He said check your email, I've already sent what you need for a pre-paid shipping label, and we want to make it right.

So about two weeks ago I got around to shipping it back, and a new one arrived on the doorstep yesterday. The receipt said "replacement" to my surprise and not repaired. After work today I took it out of the box and it is absolutely 100%, unlike the one I sent back.

So I want to give a "BIG" shout out to Hornady for looking after their customers and standing behind their products. Even after buying a used product at a discount store and offering to buy the needed parts they took care of me. And I wanted to share that!

All I have from them is a couple die sets and an older Pacific measure. All have been 100% so no need for CS yet. Good to know they are really helpful on that end as well.

Interesting topic. I just bought a Hornady die and immediately found a way to bust it. I called them to buy the piece and they offerred to send me a new piece gratis.

I told them that my own stupidity broke it but they insisted that it was under warrantee and sent the part.

Kind of blew me away.

I've been reloading since the late 60's. I started serious competitive shooting and around 1980 I bought my first Hornady AP, to go with my existing single stage. Their products have always been excellent quality and value. I've contacted them a few occasions and have always had "above and beyond" customer service! In the mean time I've purchased 5 Dillons for each of the calibers I've shot over the years and retired the HAP.
Earlier this year I decided to join a club rifle league and shoot more 30-06! Out comes the HAP after 20 years of retirement. It needed few parts! This is when I found out it was "no longer supported"! They offered me a new LNL at a discount if I traded in my old HAP. Well I decided to keep the HAP but I did buy a new LNL! They include 500 of their bullets to sweeten the deal! Now I have a dedicated 30-06 and dedicated .223 press for high volume shootin'!

Did I need a new press? Probably not. But due to the excellent customer service and products I made the purchase.

Dillon C/S is excellent too but the LNL has a few features I prefer over the "550"!

Smiles,

The gun industry knows how to treat it's customers.
I could name 7-10 companies in the industry with absolutely outstanding service just like this.
