Just wanted to give credit to Hornady for their good customer service.

I’ve had a Case Prep Trio for a few years and a couple of weeks ago while using it it jammed up solid, I took it apart and 2 of the 4 gears had broken apart.

I checked and it was long out of warranty, sent an email to see if they had gears I could purchase and within a day received a reply saying they did have them and would send a new set out at no charge.

I have mostly Dillon stuff and they have great customer service but Hornady is no slouch either.

I've also had very good experiences with Hornady Customer Service. The only parts for my extra press that I've actually paid for are those extras I like to keep on hand in case I'm in the middle of a loading run.

I also offer/expect to pay for items I've worn out/lost, but they have always insisted on sending them out for free. The only minus is that if you're used to Amazon 2-day shipping, you'll be slightly disappointed when it takes 5 days to get to you

I also had a recent good experience from Hornady customer service. Had the expander strip out on a .223 sizing die, called their support number, they sent me a whole new decapping assembly, free of charge. Got it very quickly, too.

Maybe the Jimmy John’s sandwich Customer Service could take note of Hornady’s Service. Glad you had a great experience!!! Will have to remember this!

I sheared the handle off on my 25 year old ProJector... a quick call to Hornady confirmed they no longer stocked the handle, but they sent me a LNL handle, anyway, no charge. The stock LNL handle worked, sorta, but I had to go after it with it clamped in a vice to replicate the original ProJector bend.

I've had decent results from Hornady CS... although I admit, I was a little disappointed that they 1) don't stock some common parts for a press with a 'lifetime' warranty, and 2) that they weren't willing to dive in and help me come up with a better solution that what they gave.

I still believe Hornady makes good products that are largely reliable, and they have a lifetime customer... but so does RCBS, and a few others.

I personally prefer quality and service over price.

Then why are you buying Lee? ;)

(Go ahead, everyone, throw your rocks at me. I make that comment in good humored jest, but the best Lee product I have, and very likely the only remaining Lee product on my bench, is the Lee dippers. I have not had good luck with most other Lee products I've owned.)

Hornady has also had the best bullet availability of the big manufacturers through these tough times. Speer? Forget about it! Lol

I think that is an unfair statement.
There are many people who wouldn’t have been able to afford to start reloading without Lee products.

When I started reloading 12 years ago I didn’t know a single person who reloaded so I didn’t know if I would enjoy it.

The only other complete kits available at the time were the Hornady and the RCBS Rockchucker.

They were both more than double the price of the Lee.

I eventually moved on to a Hornady LnL and then a Forster Co-Ax but the Lee Challenger still has a spot on my bench and still gets used.
Here it is expanding 460 S&W case mouths.

The Lee dies have the most complete instruction contained with them including load data.

I have also loaded some very accurate ammo using Lee dies.
Last week I couldn’t find a set of Lee 500 S&W dies in stock in Canada so I splurged and bought a set of Redding dies for 3 times the cost.
They had the wrong die in the package.:fire:
I don’t think that they will make ammo that is even 30% better than the Lee dies let alone 3 times better.

These were made with Lee dies before my Redding dies arrived.
It was my load development test target for my Savage 12 FV in 6.5CM.

You obviously missed my comment about good humored jest. I’m glad your experiences have been good, mine not so much. It is what it is.

I have only had a few things in the "stuff to reload" area go south, many by my own stupidity. I have found every company I called to get this or that from has been very good to deal with.

Years ago, bought my Lee turret, like an idiot I tossed the little tube the primers go down after you pop them out, they sent me another one.

Bought an OLD RCBS die set at a gun show, like an idiot I did not open it up, missing one die, can I buy just one die, they gave it to me.

I have not broken or lost anything else.....yet.
