I just received a Hornady LnL last week and used it for the first time yesterday to load 500 rounds of .45 ACP. I purchased it to load .45 ACP and .223 plinking and match loads for my AR15. Let me just say this press is great! It works smoothly without issue. The powder feeder and primer feeder both work great and the change from pistol powder drum and large primer feeder (.45) to rifle powder drum and small primer feeder (.223) takes just a few minutes. The powder measure along with it's micrometer inserts is as among the best that I've used. I don't understand the problems some people have with Hornady's directions for the press. They are both clear and concise in my experience-you just have to read them. For what it's worth my previous press was a LEE Classic Cast 4-hole Turret. I was very close to buying a Dillon 650, and was leary of the LnL after the "horror stories" I've read, but in my personal experience the LnL is a great press. (Both are great presses please take "the high road" and don't start a color war.)

I included some tips below based on my experience. I think these clear up all the issues most people have. If you follow these tips before you try to crank out ammo you shouldn't have any issues.

Tips:

1) Make sure the auto index is adjusted so that it's timed correctly. Mine was slightly off from the factory, however, 5 minutes and the instruction manual and it works perfectly no matter the speed or force you use to load.

2) Primer feed: If you spill powder clean it up as it may jam and limit the travel of the primer feeder.

3) Ejection wire: Insert it fully back into it's recess and tune it so that it is almost flush with the top of the shellplate.

Mine is 100% after checking the above per the directions. And BTW, the Hornady dies are great. The seater dies floating centering sleeve doesn't make it necessary to bell the case mouth as the LEE dies did. Before I had to put a fairly decent bell on the mouth to avoid shaving Rainier plated bullets.

thanks as well... my mind is made up, just the funds needed is the only goal... i'll keep my classic turret, but add another red press to the bench, this one a hornady :)
