Hornady Powder Measure caliber conversion

Unless I am retarded (I might be), it seems as though you have to readjust the die attached to the powder measure every time you change calibers, right?

This sort of defeats the whole "lnl" advantage in changing calibers quickly.

I looked at Midway and can't find Hornady powder charging dies sold separately. Am I completely missing something about this or is everyone adjusting the die height every time?

You just loosen the lock collar and, with a case in the shellholder and lever down, turn the powder measure to adjust. Takes an easy 10sec.

If you don't want to spend the ten seconds to adjust, they sell die bases for 10 bucks or so that you can have pre-adjusted for each caliber. I should share that having had my LnL for about eight years, I'd never bought one until I added a Uniflow with CAPD bases to my Lee Classic Turret press I use for reloading calibers I whose volume doesn't support buying a caliber setup on the Hornady. (With the way my grown son is sniffing around my LnL, I may end up having to buy one for every caliber I load for.)

I use a completely different powder measure setup for the two calibers I load- .40 S&W and .45 auto. The powder measures are not expensive on the Internet. Think I paid ~ $45 plus the extras.

It's called a quick change powder die Hornady part# 050074. I think midway sells them for $15.26 but like was said before you can make adjustment pretty easy. I have 5 of them but use the powder through expander with them and one for doing rifle. Just cause I don't like messing with setting the PTE up which after you do it a few times it gets a little easier but just started adding the Quick changes one at a time when I ordered something and will probably get another 2 or 3.

yep! I thought about the whole measurer like a dillon tool head but decided to go this route only adjustments I have to make are to the powder and with the pistol rotor with micrometer it's pretty quick and painless.
