Glad his finger wasn't on the trigger. He did a good job of keeping the barrel in safe direction considering.

Does this happen a lot? I read about some women getting them down the front side
in the funny range stories in here. That would make for an interesting video I think.
Anybody here have videos of yourself doing this dance or doing it to a fellow shooter?

My father is left handed and that happened to him in basic training. No video but he has burn marks on his neck to this day.

No videos but I have had hot brass jump into my shirt pocket, bounce off my hat and off the top of the reciever and hit my cheek, nose or lips.

seen a LOT of women wearing low cut shirts have brass jump in for a how-do-you-do.

our range had this happen to a female who didn't have the presence of mind this guy did and went to sweep the brass out of her cleavage with the muzzle of the pistol and shot herself in the arm.

there's a moment of "let me get that for you LAWLZ" but it quickly turns to "DOWNRANGEDOWNRANGEDOWNRANGEDOWNRANGE!!!"

Happened to me in basic. Convoy live fire in the back of a 2.5 ton truck. Had the burn mark for about 3 months. Its gone now. I'll never forget the dance I did.

It ain't no joke. Thats why you usually see those range dividers on indoor ranges. Because hot brass is HOT!

I was shooting my ar15 indoors and I had a peice of 5.56 brass pop off the divider and fall right between my shooting glasses and my face. It was there for about 4 seconds before I could even saftey the rifle and put it down. I then proceeded to rip my shooting glasses off as fast as I could. I had a nice 1.5 inch burn mark that resembled half a 5.56 case. What was amazing is that I put some super burn cream on it, and after about a week you couldn't tell. I had .22lr brass do much worse

I once had a 9mm casing drop in between my shooting glasses and my eye. Luckily, I sustained no injuries, but it scared the living daylights out of me.

constructing guns, that eject spent cases DOWNWARDS
doesn´t seem such a bad idea, eh?

( the idea of idfentifying gun-chicks by cleavage-brunmarks
is hilarious. "Nice b++bs, what caliber did u use?")

During my department's urban rifle course we each probably shot through about 2,500 rounds of ammo.

Shooting AR-15's in close proximity like that, I think I caught at least 3-4 hot pieces in that week. Had a burn mark on my neck for a couple of weeks.

Hot brass is HOT.

when that happends you yell, "take it off before your shirt catchs fire."

Far too often I've used the hood of a truck as a rest, only to have the hot 5.56mm casings hit the windshield, bounce off, and smack me in the side of the face.

I have a modified 1911 and it ejects right past my right ear. There have been a few times cases fall right between my shooting glasses and my face. Well, it only happened twice because now I wear a ball cap pulled down low.

Some day I'll take this pistol to the shop and see what the deal is with it. The guy I bought it from did alot of work on it and it has not failed to fire yet but that brass an inch from my ear bothers me.

The guy next to me learned that when the 60 gunner says you might want to move over a bit, you might want to move over a bit. The holy hot brass in my shirt dance was impressive. Blank brass too, so it was all pointy and got hung up on the fabric, he had to strip down to get it all out...

same thing happend to me 2 weeks ago.. a 5.56 bounced on the wall, ended in my tshirt, and finally entered my pants..

it burned my skin to 3rd degree on the lower back... I will not force you to watch a picture of it..

I was holding the timer for a guy who was shooting around a barricade and a piece of .38 Super brass bounced back and went INSIDE his glasses. He ripped them off but maintained muzzle control. .38 super loads that make major are loaded to high pressure and the brass gets HOT. It left a horizontal burn under his eye that looked like the black stuff is that football players use.

I don't know about "a lot", but it is one of the reasons that you're advised to button the top of your shirt and wear a brimmed cap while you are shooting.

I have had a .45 case pop up and over my safety glasses and get trapped on my cheek as well as having 5.56 and 7.62 NATO brass "showers" from people on the line.

I've learned the usefulness of wearing a brimmed cap after a brass case wedged itself between my lower eyelid and my glasses. Had a blood blister and subsequent burn scar for many years after that.

Got some .22lr hot brass stuck between my shirt sleeve and my tricep.

Got a cute little scar on my right arm now.

Whenever I shoot my FAL, I set up an empty ammo can or cardboard box next the ejection port so I don't have to chase my brass all over the place. The downside is that occasionally the brass bounces back out. This is my elbow after a bounce-back rolled under my support elbow while shooting prone:

It got even worse before it started to heal. All the skin fell off the affected area a day or two after I took the picture. The brass wasn't even in contact with my skin for a second, I pulled my arm up off of it (with the muzzle still downrange) the instant I felt the burn.

The scar is still visible now, six months later.
