I ordered a Kimber Talkeetna today but it won't be here for a week or so, but in the meantime, perhaps some members here would post photos of their .375 H&H rifles along with information such as optics, rings, bases, favorite bullets, loads, exploits etc. The more I learn about the venerable .375 H&H Magnum the more excited I get.

My 375 H&H is a Ruger No. 1. (Photo shows it along with Ruger Scout and Marlin Guide Gun).
I do handload for it but I have not determined the best load yet - I'm just working through some of the load data in Lee's book and the Lyman manual. I love the round and I love this particular rifle. I seem to enjoy recoil and this gun really lets you know you have dropped the hammer on something.
I am getting a Leupold VXIII 1.5x5 scope for it by the end of the year but I have found my rifle to be quite accurate with irons out to 100 (have not shot much beyond that distance).

My Dads .375 H&H
My Dad bought this Model 70 in 1959 from Spenard Guns in Spenard Ak. for $75.00 and we used it throughout out our time in Alaska and it has seen some adventures that will always be with me. I shot it the first time when I was about 100 lbs wet 12 years old ( long ago). It doesnt kick so much to day (today I weigh in at 193) but he put the muzzle brake on it for me. I use it on occasion today for whitetails (loaded way down) He used it for Moose Sheep Goat Bear and Caribou. The scope is a Weaver 4X on a pachmeyer tip off a return to a perfect zero. I didn't realize Pach went back that far and thought they only made grips. I could go on about hunts. It was used when he bought it and it has the first owners name etched on the receiver Charlie Birdsong. Im thinking a Native American. Its a real prize of mine. Thanks for the chance to brag on it.

My Sako M75 375 H&H stainless/synthetic flanked by a 338LM and 416 Rigby.
It's one of my 2 "goto" rifles that if I had to drop everything and leave on a trip unexpectedly it would be the one I grab. It will handle most anything. I have had it in -20 degrees where I would have to chip ice off of it to 100+ and it's never missed a beat. It wears a 3-12x56 Zeiss and shoots a 270 TSX Barnes handload well.

Two that went to south africa with me 5 years ago, the bottom one is a .375 H&H and the top is a .270 WSM
The .375 used on Wildebeast and lion the .270 on all other game.
I have another .375 on a Whitworth action with a High grade walnut stock for pretty and an old .378 Shultz and Larsen Weatherby that is pretty useless as it is equally dangerous on both ends!

My Ruger No.1 Tropical in .375 H&H, a No.1 and a .375 H&H were both on my grail list so when I found them together new and unfired for $715 I had to have it. I've put about 110 rds through it 40 factory the rest handloads, I can shoot it pretty darn good and the recoil doesn't bother me until I pass the 40 round mark or 20 from the bench. So far the only two loads I've worked up are a 300gr hornady sp over 68.0grs of IMR 4350, and the same bullet over 58.0grs of varget both shoot great for me, though they are hodgdon/imr minimum loads.

dubbleA, I was thinking about a Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40mm with the RZ-600 reticle for the Talkeetna. I noticed that at 6x, the 300, 400, 500 and 600 stadia line up well for typical 270gr or 300gr loads.

I picked up the Talkeetna last night and couldn't be happier with the rifle. The fit and finish and overall quality is outstanding just like my Kimber Montana. Kimber really knows how to build a great rifle. A coworker and I set up some milk jugs in my back yard once I got the rifle home and we shot five rounds of Remington 300gr MC ammunition to check function. The rifle was perfect and chambered the round nose bullets with ease.
Here's a video (3MB) showing my coworker with the first two shots out of the Talkeetna. I hit both jugs with shots #3 and #4 and my coworker hit the 50 yard jug with shot #5. All jugs were hit low so the sights are a little off for the 300gr bullet but that's an easy fix. I plan on working up loads for it using Barnes 270gr and 300gr TSX FB bullets with Reloder 15 powder. I haven't decided which scope to use yet but I have a Leupold Mark 4 1.5-5x with an illuminated reticle that might work well. I could have Leupold make two custom elevation dials for the Mark 4 once I get the loads worked up.

I mounted a Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40mm (RZ600) scope yesterday using Talley stainless steel QD rings and bases and bore sighted. I'm hoping to zero the scope this afternoon with some 300gr MC ammunition. I plan on 3" high at 100 yards which should get me close to a 200 yard zero. Load development will include two bullets from Barnes ... the 250gr TTSX and the 270gr TSX, both with Reloder 15 powder. Here are a couple of photos to show off the new rifle. The Conquest fits perfectly on the Talkeetna making the most of the 4" of eye relief.

1977 Winchester M70. The scope base is off the rifle, irons zeroed at 200 meters.
Works real nice under the new tin roof the club put up over the benches.

krinko & uvausmc, great rifles you have there. uvausmc, how long is that barrel? Maybe it's the camera angle but the barrel looks really long. The Talkeetna barrel is 24". Here's one more photo of it without any "accessories".
BRNO 602 shortened to 20" with a Leupold 1.5x5x20 in Warne Maxima QD rings. I like the big 6 round magazine and the great express sights that work well for me.
I also have its little brother, a BRNO 600 30-06. It's my "go to" hunting rifle as it does everything well.
