I've had several and most would shoot around 1 1/2 -2 MOA. All needed a trigger but I never changed any of them. If I want to hit anything I will pick up my CZ. I did have a friend who had a bull barrel that would shoot as good as my Winchester 52B. We are talking 10 shots less than dime-sized at 50 yards. We could hit the roofing nails holding our targets.

My modified 10-22 with federal 510a ammo will routinely shoot 1/2" at 50 yds. With wolf mt it will do 1/4" if I can. and 3/8" easily, with no crosswind. the Federal wont do any better than 2 1/2" at 100 yds as it starts out at around 1240 fpm, and must go transonic at about 75 yds or so. I have not tried 100 yds with the wolf mt, as I don't have but a few boxes left. it should do better, as it starts subsonic, around 1030 fpm, or so.

The range I go to uses black fiber target backers, and I can see the .22's from about 80 yds into the target, if the light is right. Sat next to a guy with a .300 BO,with a suppressor and he was dismayed he couldn't get on the paper at 100 yds. I told him I could see his bullets dropping under the backer, and to aim at the top of the backer. He got on paper right away, but didn't believe me. Gave him my spotting scope and let him watch my .22s going in. He was amazed you could see the slow bullets against the black target backer.

I once shot a "Prove-It" target...10 consecutive 5-shot groups at 50 yards for an mail-in on-line group. My rifle/ammo combination averaged about .4" and the best group was under .3", but can't find a copy of the target and the website is down.

Spotting scopes make it easy/fun to watch bullets fly.
I watched std V from my CZ at 25 yards w scope at 9X.
Sun was behind but not low, covered shooting line............but I watched em go not exactly where pointed.
KInda took the fun out of watching them fly.

I've never fired any .22 rifle at 100 yards.
As long as it's capable of MOPC (minute of pop can) accuracy at 50 yards, I'm happy.
If I were looking for MOA at 100 yards from a .22, I wouldn't be buying an inexpensive semi-auto.

Went to the range today, took Blazer ammo,
50 yds. The first target two 10 shot groups
from bipod. Second target four 10 shot groups from sandbags.

It does suck, that my current sporter is one of the worst 10/22's I've had.
Or seen.

Figures.

I have to decide if it's worth a GM barrel or not.

My tolerance for hassle is about gone these days.
I know my CZ455 has potential (maybe has 100 rounds through it).

Was gonna slap the 3-9X Freedom EFR on the sporter, just pop the 2-7X's rings off.
Not thrilled w looks of the Freedom series turret body.
Not on an old school .22 rf.
So was thinking change the parallax on the 2-7X it wears.

But I got hung up at gunshop, trying to figure out what to do about my Steyr.
Waiting for fam to get ready to go do stuff.

Steyr has Weaver 47M bases and Burris matte Zees in medium, and scope height is OK.
But a 40mm obj looks silly as it sits high.
They had a Burris Droptine 4.5-14X AO.

It looked ok (just sat in lower ring halves).
Am thinking Leupold Freedom 3-9X w 50mm front.
Or a used VX2.
Or if I work some OT just hold off and get a VXR.

Now it's getting dark and I can't see diddly in this dungeon. No gun work.
Don't need the aggravation.

Ruger triggers are for beginners there heavy they pull 6-7 lbs. I have installed a Timney trigger , Kidd guide rod spring kit, polished hammer, polished ruger bolt and polished action. It will do a good job with about any ammo , It really shines with Eley match but
I would reather shoot the cheep ammo. I've had a few 10/22s. The ruger barrels seem to work fine. Stock Adaptive tactical coyote color . Scope Centerpoint 2.5-7 ×32.

Mine shoots terrible, and I consider it a waste of ammo to take it to the range. I shot next to maybe a dozen guys who had major mods to their 10-22's, and shot off sleds. A few shot as well as my 521T, but most were no better, or only marginally better than mine. When I say terrible I mean 3" plus at 50 yards.

Might be something as simple as a bad crown.
Never know til ya dig in (or pay somebody to dig in).
Randy at CPC redoes factory barrels, sets em back, recuts match chamber, recrowns.
Half inch or better at 50 yards reported on RFC.

My trigger on the 70 fingergroove is OK. But I did stone the old hammer to almost Volquartsen.
Entirely usable.
Bbl is torqued to spec, was cleaned, then fouled and then shot for group.
It just won't shoot well.
Action is tight in stock.
BBl floats.

This a used gun so maybe the crown is dinged. Or never was right. I dunno, if there's a problem it's not obvious to the eye.

The gun is old, and been shot a fair bit..........so there's no need to polish the receiver/bolt. I did see first shot fliers, high, repeatedly. Unlike the older SPC I had. So...........the bolt/FP needs some attention.

If I get the first shot flier deal out, it'll be a .75" at 25 yard rig w reg ammo, Maybe better. There is an occasional shot left or right, but most of the group is strung vertical.

I do not have a reworked bolt to swap in. And no factory spare.
Guess I could just buy one. If it doesn't help the fingergroove, slap it in the target model.

Nobody has bought it. I might yet end up w three .22 rifles and just tolerate it ;)
