Might be something as simple as a bad crown.
Never know til ya dig in (or pay somebody to dig in).
Randy at CPC redoes factory barrels, sets em back, recuts match chamber, recrowns.
Half inch or better at 50 yards reported on RFC.
My trigger on the 70 fingergroove is OK. But I did stone the old hammer to almost Volquartsen.
Entirely usable.
Bbl is torqued to spec, was cleaned, then fouled and then shot for group.
It just won't shoot well.
Action is tight in stock.
BBl floats.
This a used gun so maybe the crown is dinged. Or never was right. I dunno, if there's a problem it's not obvious to the eye.
The gun is old, and been shot a fair bit..........so there's no need to polish the receiver/bolt. I did see first shot fliers, high, repeatedly. Unlike the older SPC I had. So...........the bolt/FP needs some attention.
If I get the first shot flier deal out, it'll be a .75" at 25 yard rig w reg ammo, Maybe better. There is an occasional shot left or right, but most of the group is strung vertical.
I do not have a reworked bolt to swap in. And no factory spare.
Guess I could just buy one. If it doesn't help the fingergroove, slap it in the target model.
Nobody has bought it. I might yet end up w three .22 rifles and just tolerate it
