How are you doing during this shortage?

You didn't give the bullet weight. I use that load for 158 gr, either lead or XTP. I bumped up the 125gr XTP load for the smaller gun ( SP101) to 7.0 gr. I haven't tried the mag primers but have them and might check it out.

OOPS. That's a 158 grain Rainier round nose flat point (RNFP).

The mag primers do seem to make it burn more completely. It's rare to find even one kernel of unburned powder with mag primers and 4756.

I'm doing good on supplies for the most part. I have about 17lb of WST, 6lb of W231, 2lb of Titegroup, 3lb of AA2230, 2lb AA2200, 5lb of Benchmark. My primer stock is 33,200 primers (most is SPP, and SRP. About 3k LPP). I just received 5k XTreme .400" 180gr RS bullets. I have 600-700 230gr MBC, 3k XTreme 55gr BT FMJ, and I'm out of .38spl pills. I'm still on the 1k primers/week routine every Friday on the way home from work. I just wish I could find 8lb of H335, AA2230, something.

Doing ok. Like lots of the others, I got caught short once, long ago and learned from that. Was young and broke and could not buy in bulk. Now I tend to over buy. I'm also a caster and lead hoarder!

History shows that this has happened about everytime that a Dem has been elected. I think this time has lasted longer. Maybe because we are at war. Who knows? Ya live and learn! Lightman

Learned my lesson earlier and have actually been able to add to my reserve slightly. My rotator cuff injury has been a "boon". Have not been able to shoot much so have been saving components. Just before the "mess" I picked up several K of small rifle and that helped a lot. Just treading water at present but that is a good thing.

Just bought a couple pounds of powder at Cabela's in Sidney, NE.
Setting good on everything else. Learned my lesson in 08

I'll be down in Columbus, Ohio this weekend and plan to check out the Cabela's. Had some ammo shipped there and my wife plans some Christmas shopping so while there I will look at reloading components and supplies.

I started planning for post 2012 elections when supplies became readily available in 2010. A little extra here and there so that I had a years worth if components for the main stuff and a decent amount for the occasional use stuff. I was not really affected by the post election tragedies.

I keep a watch for components and have been able to replace some of what I used and even was able to buy extra to cover an unplanned prairie dog hunt. Components have been out there if you keep looking.

I will pay a little premium on components, 10% or less. I will stop shooting if I have to pay scalper prices. I have enough other activities that can occupy my time.

Have plenty of components to float me through the lean period. Of course, in Az, it's been too damn hot to go out anyway! Only thing I've been short on in .22 WMR. Bout 100 rnds left. I expect that will be available soon again just from watching the trends. Of course, that could all change without warning depending on the next political "replacement".

Here's to hoping for all that everything stabilizes...

God bless America and TheHighRoad and it's members!!!!!

Pretty well. In anticipation of the arrival of special ordered AR-15s, I've started to load .223 Rem. I've managed to get dies, press conversion kit, kegs (1 ea) of 748 and Varget, 1K Speer once fired, and 2 batches of 1K bullets (50 jsp and 55 jsp), as well as a sleeve of Remington 7 1/2 primers. Other supplies are holding out just fine.

Watching the thread here on components and the gunbot site, I've been able to find everything I've needed.

Still, no comparison to making up a wish list of components and equipment and then price shopping for the total order.

Haha! :) Just had a thought. I was reading through these and suddenly I remembered, "No brass, no ammo, drill sergeant!"
Now where did that come from after all these years?

5k lpp, 5k spp, 7500 srp, 2500 lrp. 10k .223 brass, 5k 45, 9, 40 brass. 50 to 60lbs of powder (asstd flavors). More bullets and boolits than I can list. Several thousand rounds of factory loaded ammo as well. The late 80s and early 90s taught me a lesson. ;)

Running low on bullets for the 270 and 243. Plenty of powder, primers and bullets for everything else.
See you are East of Cleveland. I am in the SE burbs (Bedford Heights). I have the following 270 bullets:

Sierra #1833 135 grain HP 3 boxes of 100 EA.
Sierra #1820 130 grain Spitzer BT 3 boxes of 100 EA.
Sierra #1845 140 grain Spitzer 2 boxes of 100 EA.
Total of 800 270 caliber (.277 DIA) bullets.

Current Midway USA pricing would have all of them around $237 before S&H. If you want them and want to pick them up I'll take $150 for the lot. That sound fair? They are inventory left over from my shop in the mid 90s, I don't even own a 270 let alone load for it.

I always keep at least 2 years normal use of reloading components saved ahead. Then when I find a deal or have a bit of extra cash I buy some more "just because". I have not been really slowed down by this present speed bump much at all yet. I am using up some of my ancient reloading components so that is a good thing anyway.;) The .22 LR ammo is down to a couple 50 cal ammo cans full so I am tending to slow down with these until I can get more to restock them at a reasonable cost however.

As a SASS, IPSC and IDPA competitor I had about 3 years of everything ahead so no problems. I'm starting to find primers in our neck of the woods, lead bullets not so much for .45's. Casting is an option as there is about 200 lbs. of lead around the reloading room.

I have been reloading close to 40 years---the only shortage I had was when after 5 years it was time to change my walnut media I had to wait 2 weeks to find some new--from now on our government will be full of Obama types----keep a good supply & you will live a more relaxed life.

I just got 10K Tula SPP and 5K 209 Cheddite primers with 8 lbs of Promo & 8 lbs or Herco from PV. Jumped on it when I could. I try to keep 2 yrs of stuff on the shelf. My goal this Year is move it to 3 years, then to 4....maybe 5 if I am lucky - Best of luck to you all.

Locally I've done well. Have gotten everything I've needed within 60 miles of me. Which around here is local. I live in a small town. I did buy 45 bullets online this time but not bc of availability. It was price. At worst I had to wait. A few days for something. Well besides 22. And last shortage that's all you could find.

About 2 years ago, I needed some 150 gr. 30 cal. bullets, looked at gun shows, didn't have much. I ordered some from Midway, finally got 2, 100 rd. boxes, still wanted some more. Then Midway had a sale on them about a year ago, I snapped up another 3, 100 rd. boxes, sitting pretty good. THEN, about March of this year, I tried to get some .223 Hornady bullets, "Back order okay, expect these in around July 20." I ordered them then waited, finally got notice they were in, I ordered 500 right now! Between those times, I looked at a couple of other joints, and found a couple of boxes, 500 each of Sierra .223 bullets. Now I'm sitting pretty good. This past weekend, our gun club had sight-in starting, what an opportunity! Helping with shooters, asking if they reload, I managed to pickup about 250 more '06 once fired cases!! Have them about 1/2 way to being ready to reload, adding to the 200 I picked up last year, think I'm okay in that regard. Haven't touched my 22 stash yet, if I can't find more powder for my other reloading, might have to get into it !

I haven't changed a thing pistol wise. I've bought several pounds of Unique, Bullseye and HP-38 since the craziness. Rifle is a different story. Powder has been a little hard to find but I found some RL15 the other day. I'd never tried any, but I knew it was versatile so I bought some. Shoots great in my .30-06 with 165 grain SGK bullets. I know it's prolly a little fast for that weight, but its plenty accurate.

I'm getting by.

Pretty much unaffected here. I cast my own for most calibers. Only problem i my supply of wheel weights is starting to dwindle. about 50 lbs left. After replenishing that, I'm back in business.

Yeah, WWs are getting a little harder to find here too, but you still can if you're patient. You may pay $40 a bucket for them, but that's still a helluva lot cheaper than buying bullets.

I've also gotten my hands on some bar solder so I can pick up pure lead at the scrap yard for 0.35 a pound and do it that way too.
There's always ways.

I'm not having any problem at all, my LGS seems to have the ability to get in components like primers and powder. I have enough stock to last a long time but I wouldn't have had to have them.

I will always have these supplies (1 years worth) even when there's no shortage because that's just how I roll.

Pistol bullets were my only problem but Long Day Jake took care of that for me with my 9mm. My .357mag, I cast them myself and have about 5k of them.

As far as primers go small pistol is my high usage primer. I bought mine before there was a shortage, I don't want to buy any now since quality control is probably suffering so I will wait until stock is in better shape and restock again.

IM good for a few years at least. I stocked up the day after the 08 election, and again the night of the 2012 election. I can continue to shoot every weekend for a few years.
i did just buy a smith and wesson 500 magnum that i do not have a big supply of lead for.
