Do you walk past tables full of shiney new rifles at a gun show with nary a second glance, searching for the next special "relic" to add to your collection?
Yes
Do you have stacks of books dedicated to the subject?
Yes
Are you up to date on the current availability of firearms and ammo?
Yes
Would you rather buy three or four old rifles rather than one new RemChesterby?
Most definitely YES, yes, yes!
Milsurps just have so much history, character, style and soul.Modern production guns are just blah to me.(this really only applies to rifles for me though, modern handguns are different for some reason. I lie modern ones nd milsurps equally).Only reason I have any rifles that aren't milsurp is because they were given to me by my father, and I use them for hunting because ammo selection is better, they are more consistant in accuracy, and generaly a LOT lighter. That said, if they hadnt been given to me, I wouldn't have bought them even for hunting, I would have just used one of my milsurps instead. The only exception is my Wasr-10, .22's and .22 magnum. Those I like for really cheap plinking and some small game hunting, and there's just something aout the litle .22's tat are fun and relaxing to shoot.Probly the lack of recoil, and no very loud. They also sort of make me feel like a kid againwhen I'm shootng them.
