Well, I went and did it. I traded my Ruger New Model Blackhawk 357/38 Special/9mm convertable (the one with the beautiful rosewood handles) plus 2 leather and 1 nylon holsters, and three boxes of 300 WSM 180 grain, plus a new box or 38 special for a Rossi 357 2" blued snub.

How did I do?

Yea! I think I DID get hosed. My son's a good trader! Besides, I do love him. He's been away from home for such a long time. He was in the Navy (Master at Arms) and then he was going to school. He just moved back with his wife and four kids. I guess I just thought it was about time he got a really good deal.

I know the gun very well. I bought it for him for his birthday when he was 21. He's taken good care of it; and, besides it's lighter for me to carry than my SP101 and it holds one additional cartridge.

Ah, I see, well that probably takes the sting off of letting a good gun go :D

Congratulations and Thanks to your son for serving, hope he enjoys his new gun, and you yours!

Reading the original post I thought "I need to call 911, this poor guy needs help!"

Then, the rest of the story.

Nice deal.
