I'm going to finally replace the cheapo Core Lite stock on my sporter Mauser (bought it sporterized). I'm looking at the B&C Medalist Mauser 98 Varmint style. I like the idea of the Al mounting block and not having to bed it. To those of you who have or have used the B&C Medalist stock, how did you like it? I realize that I'm liable to have to do some significant fitting due to the variations of the military Mauser actions, and I feel comfortable enough to do them.

Very solid stocks! My Savage Medalist needed some material removed to float the tang, but I don't mind doing some fitting. The v-block bedding is nice, and extends clear through the stock so the action bolts seat on aluminum.

My new .30-06 Model 70 Extreme Weather SS came with one. It shot <.7 MOA the first time I took it to the range with my hunting loads, and weighs less than a Featherweight.

I sure would buy one for another rifle, if I were looking for such.:)

For those of you that have one with the camo finishes applied, how does it hold up? The stock I have now started as camo, but it's only about 80% camo now as it has rubbed off.
