Hi all... sorry for the dumb Q, but I'm not seeing anything really definitive on exchanging or replacing the OEM 930 stock, with a OEM Pistol Grip Stock in the owners guide.

After much to do at the orig gun sellers shop, and little satisfactory resolution there. Contacting O.F. Mossberg on the subject matter, resulted in them sending me a PG stock for my 930 Home defense shotgun.

Nothing other than the stock itself came inside the box… well ‘cept for a bit of packing.

Exactly how do you take off the orig 930 stock, and thereafter install this new one?

I'll simply assume this new PG stock (a little cheesey, build quality I might add, as it reminds me of a toy ray gun I got as a kid, due to it’s hole in the base of the grip.) will it screw/bolt right back on in place of the old/current one.

Correct?

Or is a disassembly required instead.

Any thing or item out there other than duct tape which will fit/cover that hole in the Pistol grip?

I guess I could use duct tape and roll up some batteries or socks in there. Maybe some surgical gloves, gauze & tape, for afterwards…. But it’s gonna look like uh.. well… not good.

Tanks.

Allow me to convey to you, my most sincere thanks. Gee that’s super. I routinely overlook the simple stuff. Tanks immensely.

You’ve no idea how many times I went thru that pdf manual and repetitively Googling for stock exchanges/replacement/removal, etc., last night before posting this stupid Q.

Must have been really tired, but then who would have thought to look under the heading of ‘SPACER’ for butt stock info?

There’s a better view of things on pg 20 in the pdf too. Right after where it explains the sights which accompany which itterations of the 930 935, or SPX.

I do believe I’ll wait till I call Choate & Mossberg once more on Monday to confirm the exact size spacer issue and the fact none was sent along with the new butt and ask about the hole in the handle too.

If you push real hard you can almost get two shells up in there, flush…. Still you would need duct tape to hold them in…. or a hammer. I suppose you could just bang it/them on a wall or floor a couple times too… but I’d not try shoving in 3 inchers.
