How far does my rental property line extend?

I lease an industrial shop for my business in a huge building shared with a few other shops and a big parking lot. I know that, for defense reasons, I'm allowed to have, conceal, and use a gun inside my business without any kind of CC permit. (I don't have one)

What I'm wondering is, when I walk out my door, how far can I walk before I have to "un-conceal" my gun? As a renter, does my "property" extend out into the parking lot? (none of which is dedicated specifically for me) Would it be the same lines as the owner of the entire building?

All you'll get here is internet guestimations.

1. Read your lease. It should tell you EXACTLY what is the amount of property covered by your lease. My guess, your lease covers only the square footage of your leased space.
2. Have an attorney read your lease.

In Florida when you are talking about property which has a shared or community area, that area is not considered to be yours. For example, say you live in an apartment complex with a shared parking lot, and there is also a common hallway that is inside the building, with the apartment doors opening into that hallway.

The law says that the hallway and the parking lot are NOT a part of your residence.

I believe that the same would be true for this business.

Your property is defined by the lease. Unless the lease restricts use of some part of the parking lot to you, such as specifically reserving some parking area for your use, my guess is that "your" property stops at the door.

I agree with all those who have said that (1) you leasehold is defined in the lease; and (2) you should talk to an attorney if you have questions. And, if you're in a "shall issue" state, why not just get a concealed weapons permit and then it won't matter?
