I know I'm a gunny because I finally found a watch I like after months of looking for one to replace my Omega Seamaster Limited Edition which was stolen. The watch is an Ebel, and ironically is named the "1911".

I jokingly told the salesperson whom I know that I really like the watch, but I felt conflicted because I thought it would be odd to buy a watch called the 1911 when I'm more of a Glock guy. :D

He laughed, but I doubt he actually got the joke. It's possible though.

J/K:neener:

Let's see a picture!

I'm a Citizen Eco-drive guy myself.:)

Ebel 1911 that I'm probably going to buy.

Now I'm going to HAVE to get a 1911 pistol to carry with it.

That's a pretty sharp looking watch...How much does one run?

Price I was quoted at the store was $3,375.
That's a nice looking watch. What's a Tachymeter?

It allows you to measure speed based on speed = distance-traveled ∕ time

He should have replied that Casio and Timex make a variety of ugly, cheap plastic watches.

$3,375 for a watch?
I'm not sure I could afford to pay the sales tax on that beauty!

Guess I'm doomed to keep my trusty ol' Seiko dive watch (besides, I've had it for 30 years.)

nahh.... I still spend tons of money on new toys that go bang. The watch is just extra.

Umm...dude thats the price of a new gun. But very nice none the less.

Dude, that's the price of two, or three, or four guns!

Or one, and several hundred pounds of ammunition and assorted accessories for it, I suppose.

It IS a nice-looking watch, though...

And Cheese, if you're buying a $3400 watch AND new toys that go bang - good on ya! Wish I made that kind of money!

fine watches, high-end automobiles, and quality guns for some reason to me all seem to be different sides of the same coin.

Apparently the coin has three sides, which is odd, but you get the point.

I think what I like most about guns is the engineering, innovative designs, and attention to detail.

Wow, nice watch.

I would probably have it smashed to bits in 60 days. I have a tendency to ram watches into equipment, desks, counters, doorjams, etc. I quit wearing them years ago.

I also don't wear a cellphone on my waist for the same reason.

Sue me, I'm a clutz! :D

I wonder if the tachymeter could somehow be used to estimate bullet velocity?
