Ordered a ML barrel for my stainless Encore frame yesterday. It's the 26" fluted, Weather Shield model with Speed Breech 3. I'm wondering how Weather Shield is holding up for people.
I've read about some early problems here, but nothing lately. I've been assuming that the W-S coating is external only and that the bore requires the same attention as a blued steel barrel; is this correct?
Also wondering if anyone is shooting this exact barrel and what their impressions are.
The stainless barrel was quite a bit more. From past experience, I've found that TC seems to have trouble making good, ML stainless barrels. So would've been hesitant to go that route even if prices were closer.
