how is xtremes jacketed 55 gr 223 bullet?

i still have 500 from about 8 yrs ago and haven't tried them.with all the case work involved i used 55 hornady vmax instead.

They are fine. I've fired not quite 2k of them and haven't had any issues. Accuracy is 1.5 to 2" groups all day. This from a heavy barrel AR. The inconsistency is my fault because I don't really take my time unless I am using 52gr. SMK bullets.

I guess they are serviceable but in the future you might want to look into RMR bullets. They work very well for me. Unfortunately they don't always have their own bullets in stock. They also sell commercial bullets from Hornady, Magtech, Sierra and maybe a few others.

I tried various 55 gr FMJ at 100 yards but I believe accuracy potential to be limited and moving onto 69/75 gr bullets for 100-300 yard testing.

They are good for plinking ammo but I can't get the sub .5 moa that I'm used to getting with the Hornady 55gr fmj.

thanks. my plan is just for steel shooting at 225 yrds with 10 inch targets reliably with the ar. so i will reserve my vmax then for the bolt action.
