How many members in your local shooting club

We have about 45 members in our club. Membership is restricted almost exclusively to highpower shooters and all are or have been competitive shooters. Our clubs focus is on conducting and promoting highpower competitons. We have determined over time that by restricting membership to competitive shooters we have almost no problems with property getting damaged, missuse and housekeeping. Liability is a big issue and competitive shooters are inherently safety conscious due to safety practices required in competition.

Over 600. I think right now it's closer to 700 than anything else.

Indoor handgun shooting club, with a crossbow section that doesn't get used much. It's not the only shooting club in the city (there is two), but it's the only one that isn't in a police station.

Two, the wife and I. Our shooting range is about quarter million acres of public land starting around two hundred yards from the house.

A few dozen active members participant in weekend shooting contests. There are as many as three different shooting contests going at one time. Currently just over 1,000 members roughtly half of whom joined in the wake of Obama -not so much because they are recreational shooting enthusiasts as because they wish to be responsible and skillful gun owners. The range facility has been expanded to a degree that allows fair access to the general, non competition membership during the weekend. Weekdays are usually uncrowded except before and during deer season when it is physically dangerous to be on the range as many of the deer hunters are not competent gun handlers and many of them feel entitled to spill over onto the pistol ranges disregarding range use rules.
The range property is long paid for and the dues are quite a bargain. Membership also requires NRA or State Rifle Association membership. For the first time in history, the membership is presently closed but will open up again when/if the Obama scare subsides and the membership falls off.

We have a VERY nice club down here. Currently around 800 members, however new memberships have been suspended while a new vetting process is worked out.

Current requirements to join are:

Current NRA membership
Proof of firearms training( military discharge counts)
Dues @ 200/yr $250 Initiation fee
Quarterly meetings and workdays

It's a very nice range with:

USPSA/NRA Action pistol range
Blackpowder range
pistol steel range with housing
additional general pistol range
Rimfire range with silhouettes " Silhuetas Metallicas " style matches

100 High power rifle
200 High power rifle
300 High power rifle

ATA Trap
Sporting clays

The only other option within 20 miles of town is a public range owned by the National park service. It's unsupervised and horrendously unsafe at the best of times due to the ghetto crowd going out there to shoot up a TV with AK's.
