Anyone can get fooled. Just wondering how many voted the wrong guy and are poised to vote for new PRO gun reps next time......

I sure as hell didn't vote for him. I wouldn't be mad at the guy who did, though. Cuomo talked a good game before the elections.

I disagree. I think anyone who voted for these clowns got what they deserve. Learn to stop voting for the same canidates and expecting different results.
Learn to vote for individual politicians based on specific issues, not party and vauge platforms.

Republican controlled legislature wasn't it?

Next time vote 3rd party. The first 2 aren't doing you any good.

I think you would more than likely find that those who believe in "Santa clause" would be those responsible for this issue and the bigger problem in Washington D.C. If you know what I mean!

Who says many of these people had a choice that would have voted against the ban? Leftist politics is so baked in in some jurisdictions that no candidate put up would be in favor of anything but restriction. When you have no voice, you must vote with your feet.

I had this hope that a grass roots movement would happen in NY state in response to "being made a criminal". The 7 round ban is so far reaching that most everyone with a semi auto anything is now affected, either to be a criminal, or take a loss on mags to be disposed of, or replace with hard to get 7 rounders, etc, and they might get politically active to put pro gun people into office. Just my hopes. But the extent of the effect of this new law HAS to affect a great number, and just maybe that increase in voter dissatisfaction might be a pro-gun win in the next election. Maybe even with candidates promising to undo the new law.

You wont get anyone to admit it. I remember when Clinton pushed through the 94 AWB. In polling no one would admit to voting for him. After that there was like 60% or more in every poll said they voted for Bush. Someone was lying.

My state Senator voted "no" -- he has run unopposed for the last three election cycles because he's a very popular Republican in a Republican-dominant district. I have always voted for him.

My state Assemblyman voted "yes" -- he's a Democrat who has never met a gun control bill he didn't like. I did not vote for him.

It's not that cut-and-dried, though. A lot of downstate Republicans voted "yes," and I want to give props to Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther (not my district, but nearby), a Democrat who voted "no" and has consistently voted for gun rights in the Assembly. A big thumbs up! It takes guts.

A lot of guys on Calguns were convinced that Moonbeam was pro 2A. :shrug

Yeah, a lot of them on Glock Talk were full of that too. But, but, but b-b-b-but, he signed a bill giving carry in National Parks! Thats only because of what it was attached to. Or my all time favorite "He hasnt done anything YET, so that means for sure he wont, but I can guarantee you Romney will!"

I like to rub those in thier faces every chance I get now. I know it isnt high road, but then again, Glock Talk isnt high road.

Having (R) people in office doesn't mean you'll get your way either. Republicans in NY voted for the revised AWB.

Bush didn't let any new gun legislation come to pass but he carried on the status quo for eight years. He didn't really roll back any restrictive gun legislation. He said he'd sign a reauthorization of an AWB if it made it to his desk.

Reagan and Bush Sr added their own restriction to the federal books before that. Bush Sr. even voted for the 1968 GCA when he was a rep in Texas and the NRA also compromised on it as well. The party lines aren't as black and white as people like to think they are.

We've had gun grabbers in the executive office for the last three decades...its just a matter of how aggressive or passive they were on the matter.

What an insensitive post.. Why not ask each member on the THR from every state who voted for a gun grabbing politician? I cannot even believe how much bashing has been done on NY gun owners on the THR.

Even better, how many people on the THR voted for the greatest gun grabber of all, Barack Hussein Obama?? I bet you will find a few more than you wish, some even from Ohio, but probably who won't admit it now.

None of the NYS legislators that I cast my ballot for voted in support of this tyranical law. I've grown tired of fighting and i'm crossing the border into America.

You wont get anyone to admit it.

This is so oversimplified. I voted for people who voted against it.

NY is overwhelmed by the influence of NYC. We are outnumbered.

The "you got what you deserved" has been repeated in several threads, worded various ways. I did not get what I deserved.

I will say this again, to everyone on THR. Did you get what you deserved when you got Obama? Of course not. You were outnumbered and outmaneuvered, as well. Someone from a foreign country could say "you Americans got the president you deserved". Is that a true statement?

It's a game of numbers. We lost. It's not that we didn't fight. Check the news stories on the thousands and thousands of people at rallies across NY. Get the facts.

Amen.

In NYS, you can't count on Republicans to support our gun rights. You can't count on "pro-gun Democrats" to support our gun rights.
We can only count on ourselves, but the politicians from all sides seem to be bent on stripping away our self-reliance.

A lot of guys on Calguns were convinced that Moonbeam was pro 2A.

He wasnt pro 2A the 1st time he was Govenor of CA.

I dont know why anyone would think he would be pro2A the second time.

Of course... those were probably the same people that thought Arnie would be pro 2A because of his Terminator movies. Wrong again

It seems that we always have a choice between the bad and the ugly. I'm not at all familiar with NY politics, but from what little I do know, I suspect that was the case. That being said, Andrew Cuomo, like his POS father, seems like the kind of elected criminal that would inspire me to vote for Ghengis Khan.

No its not, its true. I'm not sure why you dispute that. Maybe 10% of gun owners that got burned will admit it. They sure didnt in 1994.

As far as NYC ruining NY state, you are preaching to the choir buddy, I live in IL and we have chicago.

I'm in westchester county ny, just north of NYC. Saying we are outnumbered here is an understatement, we get outvoted like 5 to 1. To be quite honest, besides making yourself feel like your doing something, there is literally no point to voting here.

^^^ amen to that brother, as I have said in other threads as long as the pols are willing to give NYC whatever they require they will be a guaranteed vote for anything that pol wants passed!

I guess my question could have better been stated as " How many of your reps turned on you, acting like pro-gun, and then waffled on this one?" I don't think anyone willfully voted for people who would sell them down the river, but I think some districts got burned by reps that reversed their position while in office.....not anything that you could prevent.
